  1. I always like to see weathering to make a scale model appear like an actual miniature of the real thing, but this is the first I’ve seen where I think it’d be best to leave as is … even the shiny tires . The model is too sharp an image to have fake dirt on it … although I see you couldn’t help yourself on the trolley wheels 😋 Excellent work!
  2. This is great! I can’t wait to see more!
  3. Amazing François … this is a bunch of levels above anything else I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing with us!
  4. still here too … speechless … thanks for all this!
  5. Thank you Matt for the link. It was a bigger process and I should have just said ‘coated fabric.’ I also didn’t realize imitation leather was used then. But I still think a ‘coated fabric’ would be worth a shot.
  6. The original Bentley body was painted canvas which is what rexine is except it can be with imitation leather on cloth. That process wasn’t created until way after the Bentley was built. To be more accurate, you should experiment with an ultra-fine weave cloth like Italian silk and simply paint over it with latex or acrylic.
  7. Amazing build. Excellent photos. Although I’ve been researching for years (I’m pretty slow), this could very well be my one and only reference for my shot at this kit! Thank you, thank you …
  8. Wow Francois, I just saw your Alpha post. What a fantastic build! The Bentley was one of my favorite builds ever ( although several levels below what you’re going to do). And now since I got the Alpha kit 2 months ago, I’m that much more excited seeing what you did with it. It looks like it’ll be right next to the Bentley on my shelf some day. Your work is VERY much appreciated — thank you!
  9. I apologize — I see they discontinued this product. Here’s what I see others are using as a replacement- Quick Shine - this guy explains it well but is very long-winded( like all YouTube ‘influencers’). Remember, all this stuff is diluted acrylic medium that can be found in art supplies in various finishes (matte to gloss) … all dry clear
  10. I suggest you try the flat and then soft brush on this stuff : Remember, they didn’t spray paint a lot back then and that method will give you better control of the finish you may be looking for. Also, the guy in the video is a laugh to listen to but very creditable!
  11. Great work Fran! I used Easyoff oven cleaner on my MPC Bentley to remove the chrome. It worked very well within a few minutes. I hope it’ll work on the Airfix for you.
  12. Lol, roll top desk. This thing looks like it needs it’s own room! Can’t wait to watch your project. Have fun “Cobraman.” It sure makes sense to be your finale!
  13. What a great build! I got me through the pandemic 😊 … just about
