Rebal442
has anyone built a grain trailer to haul with trucks? I want to build one, but would like to see if someone has already done this to get some ideas as to how to approach it. I attached a picture of what I am going for. thanks
Gramps2u
Looks like an old Wilson 45'. A Tempte 48' wouldn't be too hard if one started with the Italeria 48'Refer. ( the one with the Greatbend KS processer decals) Perfect for the corrugated sides panels and made it a 10.2 spread. Scratch build the bins. shouldn't be too hard except picking up the Italeria 48' modern refer off of ebay. That's my thoughts...
highway
I'd also like to add to Bob's statement, you could also use this version, the regular dry van:
Gramps2u
Ah! so that's how Italeri is spelled. LOL English spell check didn't have a clue LOL. That would be an excellent choice as well.

Gramps2u
Did you make some bows for the top tarp supports and a rag to roll over & cover the load?
Modelcollector
I have gotten started on them, but got derailed when I got busy. Too many things going on at once, work, kids, new business, wife, you name it.
dabelltoller
hey I built a 2011 Wilson grain trailer about 2 years ago here is a link to the photos of it done and if you look down to left you"ll see 10 or so of it in progress http://s1204.photobucket.com/user/dabelltoller1/library/wilson%20trailer?sort=3&page=1 thanks gary
uncle potts
The new Great Dane trailer would also work for a starter kit. The rib pattern isn't exactly the same to replicate a Wilson, but it would work for a Tempte. I'm not familiar with the brand that is depicted in your picture, I noticed that the ribs are vertical not horizontal, like the box van kits that are available. Hope this helps some. Gramps2u
Styrene sheet and properly placed half round stock could replicate the side panels. 1:1 they wasn't one complete sheet as they are panels. Add some Rivets . Available in sheet decal form from Micro mark and that issue solved. Just time & patience.
