Finally got a brake light and headlight set up, the tail lights not sure if the tan "resin" part will be painted to look like stone or ill just alclad it then glue to truck and trailer and the headlights will be integrated into the front bumper "hands", that will actually be free standing in what the Aztecs used to use in battle, they would strap these things to their back as a show of force for battle, ill paint it just like they used to have them and add a headlight lens in the center piece that is indented, then apoxie that to the bumper where the hand is.

I actually mocked it up with lake pipes. It looked pretty good, and speaking of hyroglifics thats whats up on deck for my Egyptian raider build that i have in the works as welll, not sure if this one will have lake pipes but they do look cool on it...

Having a real hard time deciding what color or colors to paint this thing........................out of all of them i keep coming back to the lime green as it will be better for the ghost effect graphics but i think it will not compliment the painted foam pieces enough, ill have to keep mulling over the possibilities......

Thanks David and Danno,

working on the linkages and after looking at the pic i can see i have to sand the strip down as the piece of strip plastic i have was way to wide, a few hits with an emery board should do it, and at my age I can tell I need a magnifier as my eyes are crossed bad, I want to detail the engine out totally but may regret it due to the complexity of all the work involved......

Found something new to add to the truck, not sure where but will find a spot.

Tried out some patterns, gold on the right and root beer on the left but its that fast dry laquer from testors, so it did not do well when I peeled it, will have to rethink the color now.......

Hey, Darren,

Are you going to be able to make down to DSC? This baby would look great on the table . . . right here in the middle of Hollywood Jim's stomping grounds!

She would kinda agitate the force a little, you know?

I wish I could go to the DSC, some of my buds at the Albuquerque Scale Modelers always go but i never have the funds for the trip. <_< Maybe one day I ll be able to make it. Not only that but this thing is far from ready , I was hoping to have it ready by June for a regional contest here in turkey town but way to much to finish on this thing yet.

We'll miss you, Darren. The guys from ASM always brighten up the DSC day, and just hoped you'd be able to make the trip with that impressive project of yours!

Keep plugging away on the Warrior! It's looking great.

Hi Darren,

Your great ideas just keep flowing... in a way it'll almost be a shame to see it finished.

Here's my Flickr set showing my old Aztec photos - sort of a family album for me and my friends when we were performing back in the '70s and '80s:

Might give you a few ideas for decorations (or maybe make some 1/25 Aztec dancers to display with it?).

Christopher, those are amazing photos, you actually got to go where I have been wanting to go for years. Tenochtitlan I have been dieing to check out in person I love all those old pyramids and all of the artistry. It looks as if you had a blast performing, Thank you for sharing it gives me some new inspiration even thou I'm almost done with the build. I got some small figurines for the truck and trailer but was planning on using them for statues. Not sure about figures in 1/24th scale.

a little update, got most of the linkage installed but realized that I should have painted the carbs and stacks first. oh well and I think i figured out the stuff to use for water after all the alternatives this should work, will have to work harder the next time to not have so many bubbles, a little are fine as aquariums have bubbles anyway.

IMG_20140423_124343_zpsdf6c9ccb.jpgI believe I have found a color combo, I wanted to do a paint job with a lot of patterns, but with the beds and all the detail work in the interior, I did not want to make it look to gaudy, i have decided to go with a metallic root beer brown, with gold accents, may use a gel pen for pin striping that is if it ever dries.
