  1. Most home decal makers I've spoken to use 300dpi, and I use the same with mine. 600dpi is nice but unless you're going for picture quality, you may not notice the difference. Anything less, however, and you'll start to notice the pixelation.
  2. Nice work on the kit so far. If you are going for accuracy, you might want to drop the Mansell figure. The FW-13 entered action after Nige' had left the team for Ferrari in 1989 and the FW-13B was used for the 1990 season. Williams' main drivers in 1989 and 1990 were Thierry Boutsen and Ricardo Patrese. Mansell rejoined Williams in 1991, when they had re-developed the car into the FW-14.
  3. I've been using an Aztek single action airbrush for a few years and have always got a good finish with it. Recently picked up a couple of Spraymaster dual action airbrushes and whether its the learning curve but I'm finding that my control is just not as fine as with the Aztek. But I would recommend gravity fed over suction for consistent paint flow. I know you're in the US but this UK based site may offer some help http://www.everythingairbrush.com/acatalog/Gravity_Feed.html . I've got the AB-130 and AB-132 (has removeable suction or gravity feed pots) Andy
  4. It took Peugeot just 4 hours (and a safety car giving the lead Pug 1/2 a lap over the next car. an Audi) to drop the entire field 1 lap. Aside from the #3 Peugeot trying to take out Pescarolo's Pug in the pits, the only excitement otherwise has been in GT2. Still hoping for a Lola-Aston on the Podium
  5. Just saw his trying to drive backwards around Indianapolis. Luckily that's one corner that HAS to remain clear so he got the tow out. Otherwise, his qualifying run would have been very short
  6. True Nick. Oh, and I did forget to mention the 2 customer Corvettes run by Luc Alphand Adventures in GT1. But a question to all... Celebrity Drivers. How will Patrick Dempsey do in his Ferrari F430 ?
  7. GT1 is a bit of an embarassment this year, similar to the competition in ALMS. The 2 Corvettes have only got 2 customer Aston teams and a Lambo to compete against. BTW, did anyone catch the chandelier hanging in the Aston garage ? Tres grand
  8. Currently being shown live on Eurosport in Europe. Corvette 1 and 2 in GT1 and Audi 1&2 in LMP1. Both Aston Martin Lolas in LMP1 wearing the washed out Gulf colors tried last year.
  9. I think we may have mentioned all bar a couple of the Group B cars from the 80s. This era seems to stand out far more than any of the cars since the mid 90s. Admittedly, it surprises me that no-one has mentioned the Metro 6R4 or the much-maligned Opel Manta. As a Brit, my first views of rallying were on the BBCs coverage of the RAC Rally and seeing these machines diving between trees in pouring rain was a truly unbelievable sight. And this is my latest WIP (not the real car, a 1/24 resin )
  10. Bell Motorsports ran a DBR9 in the GT1 class and finished in 17th. Aston Martin's site says the Barwell entry for the season was supposed to be the new GT2 classed Vantage. Which makes things very confusing as Aston now have 4 cars that run in different classes but all look practically the same GT1 – DBR9; GT2 - Vantage GT2; GT3 – DBRS9; GT4 – Vantage N24. But as ZoomZoom says, the ALMS site's results page lists it as a DBRS9 ?!
  11. Definitely looking good. I can't wait to see what you do with the "engine" Just one critique though. The pictures make the blue paint look metallic and the reference material I have shows the FW-19 ran with an opaque blue and white paint scheme. The metallics didn't happen until 2003 with the FW-23.
