  1. I'm really looking forward to this kit. I'm shocked Round 2 put the time and money into this mold. Like others I would like it to have been a hardtop. I had been looking for one for a long time. However, I thought a GTO roof swap would fill the gap. As Tim has shown, that would work well with a little effort. I always thought the 64 line up of AMT kits were cool with their custom parts. I plan on building a custom and a stock version. I hope Round 2 revives some other long lost kits sooner than later. I can live with the molded in headlamps and old school chassis. Sure I'd prefer a more detailed chassis and separate headlamp lenses but beggars can't be choosers. The more particular and higher skilled builders will swap the chassis, drill out the headlamps for clear lens, etc. That's part of the fun and the challenge of building models. You take something standard and make it your own.
  2. I have an old container of Testors Model Master "Simulated Carpeting" I bought many years ago Part # 50594C. I don't know if Testors even makes this anymore. The instructions on the back recommend using Testors Glue No 3515. Has anyone used this glue to flock with? I know this glue can be used for installing kit glass. Many modelers use water base glues flocking. I prefer not to do this in case the model ever needs to be cleaned. I am afraid water would undermined the glue. One of areas that I need to flock was sprayed with lacquer. So using paint to attach the flocking is out of the question at this point. I'm curious if anyone has used Testers 3515 any other clear parts type glue for flocking.
  3. Awesome, super clean build. Love the display base. Very cool.
  4. Casey - Thank you for the link. It answered a couple questions I had. Mark - Thanks for confirming the body spread. That is probably the biggest issue when assembling.
  5. I have an assembly question for the MPC 1975 Camaro kit. I am planning on building the stock car version and I am missing the instructions. It looks like the chassis has two circular indentations on each side to locate the bottom of the roll cage. The roll cage looks like it will bow out beyond the chassis’s sides. I assume the body sides have to be spread to fit over the cage? I believe the 70-76 Camaro and Firebird kits all have the same basic stock car parts. Does anyone have a copy of any of these instructions showing body assembly to the chassis as the stock car version that they can share?
  6. I really like where this going. Offset styling was a radical early 60’s custom look. Not always done well. Definitely an acquired taste.i like seeing radical custom builds. Keep up the good work. A faded paint job and scallops would be an awesome finishing touch.
  7. Awesome job. I love seeing your process for the roof design. It provides inspiration for others. This something I would like to experiment with. Keep up the good work.
  8. Since the Caddy and Pontiac body’s are close to the Johan and. MPC kits, it would be cool if someone made stock resin interiors for these from the original kits.
  9. Could Round 2 modify the promo style body to have an opening hood and use the hood from the annual / sportsman kit to create full detail kit? Or are the parts not compatible? Plus use the 63 chassis.
  10. I’m working a 65 Fairlane annual glue bomb. The one thing that really bugs me about this kit is the grille. It is a poor representation of the actual vehicle’s grille. Does anyone make an accurate 3D printed grille for the 65 Fairlane? I know there are aftermarket resin 65 Fairlanes and the stocker kit has been reissued. So I think other builders would be interested in a more accurate and better detailed grille. What do you guys think?
