Craig Irwin Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 The whole kit is customized to the point I don't think anything remotely stock can be built from it. The chassis is a race / street rod set up, the front clip is a tilt up one piece, the roof is chopped with slanted "B" post like an El Camino, not straight like a sedan delivery and has a huge glass sunroof, and the rear tailamp is a one piece that goes all the way across, ant it has rolled pans with the bumpers eliminated. The fact that it is 1/24 scale would make kitbashing with the newer Revell 60 Chevy kits a problem. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Interior is all molded as one piece except for dash, steering wheel and shifter. Has these huge boat seats molded in and all the clear parts were tinted red including the headlight lenses. The top has a huge skylight in it. Chassis is very simple like the Badman 55 Chevy. I was thinking of a kustom shop truck (knew I should have included that little bit), I was hoping it might be possible to glue the front clip shut and that it had a somewhat stockish chassis that can be used or easily modded for something other than drag racing use. (not real thrilled about that). I built the version that was molded in white with clear glass sometime in the mid 70's and it had a piece of carpet for the rear. ZIL 111V Posted December 6, 2009 Share Posted December 6, 2009 ...Will this issue have the original "full" rear top (clear red) glass, magwheels & decal sheet of the 1st 1970 edition The kit was "slightly" retooled in the early 80's : no more rear top glass...new mags/wheels, decals, top hood redesign... was a bit desapointed when got the Street Fighter II vesion approx 10 years ago, tought the kit would have been reissued to original version...let's hope Revell will reissue this one in it's original 1970 form. Jimmy Flintstone makes a $10.00 resin body of a 1960 "Sedan delivery" that is 1/25 scale and the Revell 60 Chevy hardtop kit parts (chassis and chrome) fit great. The roof looks like it was taken from the Street Fighter body, without he big glass skylight. It has an open hood and the underhood area is from the Revell kit so it's very stock like. I am trying to remember if i still have a Revell '37 ford kit at home that i can rob the 4 wheel inferior suspension from that and make something useful for a chassis myself. I took a bunch of pictuers of the sprues right out of the bag as well as the body with the front clip, roll pans, interior, and "chassis/floorpan" all taped on. I have never been a fan of the old Monogram "Custom" and "Tom Danials" kits. But being a fan of wagons. This kit back when it was the "Bad Actor" was on the shelf at the hobby shop. I once in a wile thought of getting it, but did not because it was very customized. I also have not given this new re-issue of the kit a second thought. Why I clicked on this thread I will never know, BUT I am so glad I did. Looking at this model and seeing the changes. I have to say that I am glade that we are getting the original version. I mean, Are the headlights Oval Reds again, and are the rims 5 slot?? My Original has Red Oval lenses. ALL clear was Red (That is why all modified re-issues (Quicksilver, Bad Actor, StreeFighter2) have a clear tail light piece!! (Yes I have all of them !!) Quicksilver kept the large Sunroof over the cargo area, but changed the headlights to Quads. Bad Actor came White and changed the heardlights to larger diameter singles, as well as filling in the large sunroof and replacing it with the smaller one over the seats. Streetfighter2 just returned the build to Orange (don't remember if it is molded that way been a while since I looked at it, and have not even started it) I need to dig the 3 built out & take some pic's I may have to restore one or 2 too! The new Street Fighter is back to original specs. I have it and the Bad Actor,but I was always partial to the Quick Silver myself. I don't like the red glass in the Street Fighter or the rear wheel openings on the Bad Actor,so I'm thinking about a combo of the two. I don't care for the large sunroof over the cargo area on the Street Fighter or the Quick Silver. So when I do get around to building one,I'll use the BA body with the SF quarters and wheels (maybe).
