Well I'm on my 3rd attempt at the stripes. First set was decals from a Johan S&M Cuda. They basically fell apart. Second attempt was painting. A miserable failure. Attempt number 3 will be aftermarket decals. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head but I got them on ebay. As soon as they get here I'll give it another go..

It's not perfect by any means but some touch up, decals and clear coat and she'll be fine lol.

Some more headway. Going to tackle the body this weekend.

What book do you have? I like books. I have one by Jim Schild but it mostly pictures the Cudas. I also have a 1968 Hot Rod Magazine that has a couple pictures but they are early ones with the stock hood.

I have pictures but they could well be the 69. I'm taking enough poetic license on this thing that it will keep the resident rivet counters busy for hours anyways lol. The 69 was from what I read the 68 with a new grill anyways. I have a set of decals from a Johan Road Runner with the bird that I was going to try and use but it's too big so I decided against it. I read about the blue engines but it was too late.

I'm planning depending on how this one turns out building that version. They are the same car. The team ran different engines depending on which class and or sanctioning body they were running in. The hood changed with the engines. If my research is correct the one you pictured ran in NHRA Super Stock because they had to run the stock inline intake and Carter carbs.

Lowered I beam front axil and quick change rear end. I'll take care of the rear suspension myself if that would be a problem to retool.
