drifterdon Posted July 22, 2014 Share Posted July 22, 2014 I'm gathering up the pieces parts to start a conversion of the catch truck used in the move "Hatari!". The John Wayne movie where they go out and capture African game for various zoos around the world. This particular truck has a later style bed from an early 60's fleetline or some similar truck and 8 bolt wheels. I have a cab that will work and I'm watching ebay for an early 60's fleetline donor kit. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any steelies with an 8-bolt pattern. I'm not really familiar with "Hatari!" or the truck used in it, but I do know those old Chevy trucks, the 8 lug trucks would have either had a 15" (3/4 ton) or 17" (1 ton) split rim wheel. They look a bit new but I think Danny is working on a set that may be exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully tires as well.
