hOLMS
Hello all I've been wanting to start this rock-crawler/mud-toy for a year or so...I usually build dragsters. The plan is to build this 1/25 scale based loosely upon a 60's style Jeepster. The chassis will be brass, body will be cut and formed styrene sheet. The running gear, suspension and motor will be combo of scratchbuilt and extra parts. I have no idea where this will go or how it will end up, but it should be fun...nothing super-detailed but an accurate purpose-built representation. I've not done much yet, still researching. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking. Edited December 11, 2011 by hOLMS
mikemodeler
This should be a fun one to watch, hope you can do it quickly as I have modelers' ADD! I will guess that you are going with a full articulating suspension? That engine looks like it has some power, are you sticking with the tunnel ram or are you thinking of using a fuel injection unit? Got any updates yet? :D
tooltas
that kind of race motor is not a rock crawler motor its an all out class 6 mod mud truck go to www. truck gone wild.com and look at some of the mega trucks an see they as nasty as a pro mod car some go in 5s in mud

hOLMS
I was able to do a little more chassis work and cut/form a couple body templates made from index cards. Hope to do more over the weekend. Unsure about suspension and motor for this, several combos I'm looking into. Thanks for looking!
Rob McKee
Very nice work on the chassis. I can't wait to see the end result.
hOLMS
I've added a bit more to the chassis...starting to shape up. After adding some more bars here and there, I should be able to start some suspension. Thanks for looking.
Wheels
Nice work on the chassis! Cool lookin' project!!
hOLMS
Thanks for the comments...I've done some more chassis work, rear shock mounts are in place, will be moving to the front mounts next. I'm still not sure about the suspension yet. I'm kinda liking the idea of an independent setup in the front, similar to a trophy truck...still have motor room on either end, may even play with the idea of four-wheel independent since the main chassis rails are flat...we'll see. I may be able to start that later today. This is not a replica of anything, just clowning around. Thanks for looking.
