mcdub13
I have not decided whether i wanna go full blown drag truck or nasty street truck but do to the chassis provided being junk i have decided to build my very first tube chassis. Please give me any tips ud like since this is my first one and i wanna learn. So far i have some of the base chassis done and the roll cage done. Im thinking it will be getting a turbo small block for powertrain. Let me know what you think !
John Pol
Looks good so far the tubbing that you are using is to big for that scale. Get some #222 solid rod from Evergreen or your hobby shop that's the size you need to be in scale. Keep up the good work thou. mcdub13
Thanks for the info i just looked them up and mine is almost double that size. Ill decide whether i want to restart with the right stuf or not. Maybe ill finish this with what i have and do another project later with the right stuff. 1 bad55 stan
i like the second shot,,,
mcdub13
At first i liked the second shot but now everyone is leaning me towards the rake. This project kinda got outta hand at first i just wanted a fat tired street truck next thing i no it full tube chassis
mcdub13
And btw this is a tough truck to tub because the bedsides are sigle walled so where the flare ends is it far as u can go.

DodgeAddict
Come on Mike! Let's get a move on The suspense is killing me!!!!
Slammed1
Will be watching this build with much anticipation as I am rounding up pieces myself for a few 1:18 diecast builds using Warlocks or Red Express trucks. My plan is a prostreet style raced,an offroad desert racer and maybe a neat hauler for one of my many Mopars on a trailer. Wished there was a fleetside bed option for us 1/18 builders. mcdub13
Thanks guys glad u like it. Bad news is i hacked off the rear bars to redo them they were to short . But i made a little more progress i have started fabbing in my four link. I hope to have the roller done by tonight so i can start working on the rest of the truck. mcdub13
Heres the four link finished up im pretty happy with it for my first time the front struts are drying as i type this i hope to have the roller done tonight
mcdub13
Well guys here she is the finished product of my frame build. This is the finalized stance. I did trim off the strut posts since these pics with some plate over them. I also put in my front cross brace that runs under the engine. Next step drivetrain mockup then ill move into the interior . Once im done with that it will be build time. Instead of the lil red paint job im considering sublime lime with a shadow hood since thats my favorite color. I hope ur enjoying my build .
