Eshaver: thanks for the crane names, found great reference pictures and info. raynm: its the 34 3in1 kit, can build tow-street rod-or stake truck. got it off ebay. there were couple to choose from.... got the newer version not origanal.

first build of getting back into it and first build on here. I just started brain storming and decieded to cut the rear fenders and the frame after the rear cross member/axle support. I cut the front fender hole and plan to make a spot for a tool box instead of spare tire.. I dont really like the hand crank on boom so want to make gear driven assembly but not sure how it would be driven?? open to comments or other ideas. THANKS

I will try to post some pictures this weekend, he wants to come work on it again. right now he has engine painted and ready to put together.

That was my original plan to make it be able to tow more than just a lawn mower.

I just recently started watching this forum and just getting back to building from when i was 16. now only early twentys i ask my cousin age 13 if he likes them and he didtnt know so asked if he wanted to build one with me and he said yes that might be fun, so i took him to get one tonight and we started it together with me explaining and him doing. he had some great comments like... this is awesome.... a good challenge.... and when can we work on it again. it was a cool time to be able to hopefully pass the hobby on. just wanted to share, THANKS

the kit comes with the wire wheels but want to use steel wheels but would need to find a set....

I just got the 34 ford tow truck kit and want to do some mods to it but want to know if anybody can share info to make it a dually. thank you
