Model Car Mecca is soon to be the premier model car hobby show in Western Canada. As the name implies, the main focus of the show is a Western Canadian Model Car Championship which means we intend to provide a level playing field for the most talented model car builders in Canada and the United States of America. This doesn’t mean that novice builders need not apply, quite the contrary. Model Car Mecca will be the perfect mix for automotive hobbyists of all skill levels.
The show will include a huge model car contest, interactive displays, automotive art, a 1:1 car display, die-cast cars, slot cars plus a wide array of automotive model kits and related accessories. There will be children’s activities and a participation based display for local children’s community based groups like cubs and scouts. In addition, we will host a charity raffle for Children’s Hospital and a charity auction benefiting the Lower Mainland food bank through a program called Basics For Babies.
Traditionally, model car shows have usually been a small production run by local clubs or community groups with a limited scope and a limited budget. Our production will attempt to change that perspective by creating a revolutionary model car hobby event. Presented by commercial sponsors and promoted by Cougar Motorsports, Model Car Mecca will strive to entertain both participants and the general public.
The show will appeal to more than just model car builders, but automotive enthusiasts, hobby enthusiasts and families looking for an enjoyable day activity, all will find value in attending Model Car Mecca.
