  1. This is super! As a young man, I had a business partner in Germany who collected Lambs. His prize was a 67 Miura in which he proceeded to pick me up one hungover Sunday morning and drive us up to and around the Nurburgring. I soon got over the hangover but it was rough. The car was fun on the track but I remember having to keep it at about 100 mph to keep the steering light. It was really heavy and not the easiest to steer at a low speed. We only went about 165 cause we didn't want to strain the engine. This brought back great memories.
  2. That looks like it is from the Beardog Racing kit. ###### nice job!!!
  3. Super job!!! This series of racing was great! Excellent job. Keep building!
  4. You did one heck of a job! I have built a few of these old Porsches. They are tough even when you don't have to kit bash! The body panels are tough especially the front clip. Outstanding job!
  5. Super Job! These are tough to build. Awesome!
  6. Awesome! great color! Nice and clean.
  7. I tried to post this but it got taken down. I bought the Donn Yost twin DVD and got a real good education. I wish I had bought this a few years ago. It is worth the money. It wouldn't be for the advanced modeler who has won the large shows but for the aspiring guy like myself it is excelletn. It took me a few days to get through. It is authentic and unrefined. It is not a polished corporate blurb. I reccommend it! Doug Froh
  8. has not set their status

  9. Zora Duntov would of been proud! Real nice build. I have a collection of vette racers myself.
  10. Sweet! I'm old enough to of seen these guys run. It was a golden era. Between these monsters and the mustangs there were some real tough fights. Word has it that the stock car boys thought these cars could of been a real threat to them! This would of been a hell of a lot better than NASCAR today! Excellent job. You honored them well.
  11. Ever bang your head against a wall for a while before you find out that the wall ain't moving. Welcome to my modeling career. I went and spent a few bucks and bought the new Donn Yost DVD set and all I can say, is where the hell was it a few years ago when I was a blind man in a forest? It took me a few days to get through the DVD, but I sure wish I had it a few years ago as it would of grease the skids on my modeling efforts alot. What I liked about the DVD is that it isn't an over polished, disingenuine effort. It is authentic and gritty just as Donn appears to be. While it might not be of value to the more advanced guys. Guys who are habitual winners in major shows, for the majority of you guys it is an excellent value as how you can improve any model. While Donn concentrates on mainly Gassers an muscle cars, his skills come from his model train background. The organization of the DVD is excellent. One that even my ADDHD laded mind could follow. He is sincere. He is real. And I find all of that a comfort in that he makes you feel that Hey, putz you can actually do this stuff! Excellent money spent. Buy now before you gork another kit! (not that I ever have. yuk, yuk.) Doug Froh
  12. I have been all over the site and cannot find where I put my personal signature. Being that I have been on the site for more than a few months, I wonder why this all of a sudden becomes an issue whereas there are other replies from other members that do not garner the same attention? My name is Doug Froh. Are you a moderator? I did not find that on your reply to me.
  13. Here's some pics of the engine I spoke about. Thanks for the compliments. Buy the Donn Yost videos. He has helped me turn the corner and I have been doing this for about 4 years.
  14. I just want to tell everyone that I bit the bullet and first bought the Model Painting DVD. My painting sucked. Thanks to this DVD I now have an excellent technique for painting. It is ###### near full proof if you follow the step by step. The painting technique can be seen on every model that I have posted here. So, Donn then comes out with a two DVD set on building and detail. I am always hungry for more tips but, I have alot of techniques of my own. So, I finally go and buy the set. All I can say is that if you are a model builder of any level up to the level of Batson, Thibedeau, Kemp, you should buy this. every begginner should but these videos. You will save alot of money. I am not paid or in the business what so ever. I just want to give a huge hint to all of the frustrated model builders out there which I am one.
  15. This was a commission from a friend. The paint is MCW special made Lacquer in the original Porsche color. The interior is flocked. I had to use a detail master radio face to match his and the seat belts and shoulder belts were custom made. In the engine, I had to add a Detail MAster Coil since they are sol prevalent on the real cars but not included with the kits. Since it was old, it had some challenges. The accuracy was off at times and the parting lines a bit more than what I am used to from Tamiya, even back then. I like the detail and I love the engine.
