2012 lowrider tour!

Here is a minor update.

Got the frame done and touched up, and I finished up some basic engine work. I managed to find the water pump. The tacky paint was tacky enough to stick to the wall. So while I was sifting through the shag carpet, I briefly gave up and gazed at nothing. Then a little shiny thing on the wall got my attention.

12 hours later.

So anyways the part was cleaned up and done in gold via the alclad path, and radiator done in chrome, and all installed and detail painted.

Will get better pics uploaded when I get home.

Excellent start all, looks enticing but I have a habit of not finishing these sorts of things  So I'll sit on the bench and watch instead.

Amazing paint as always Luke. Looking forward to your project Dr Cranky. Mark that chassis/engine is looking great, really tidy. Keep it going fellas, I'm watching :D

Very nice, Luke. Great, clean and smooth work as usual. Love all your vehicles in black. It's a trade mark. You are the Johnny Cash of model builders!

Here is where I'm at...

picked up a neat set of wire wheels at a recent show.

Worked on the front seat head rest and deepened the seat

separations to give it some more definition.

Also finished the Chevy heartbeat.

Next thing is a silver basecoat ..let it sit for 2 days.

Working on the interior while the body sits for a while.

Good to see your progressing with your builds James and Mark.

Im currently at a stand still on the Belair, im patiently waiting for a delivery of some flat clear which should be on my doorstep next week some time.

All I have left is to do is finish the interior, all parts have been painted but some of the parts need a coat of the flat clear. Then Its just a matter of doing detail work and final assembly.

So while im waiting I decided to get started on another build.Hope its ok to build more than 1 Mark.

Lowriders are my interest lately so im liking this thread topic very much.

Revell 65 Chevelle.

After some modifications to the rear chassis and cutting the coils, the ride height was set.

Rough mock up.

Luke, that looks amazing so far. Great to see Lowriders being built from different subjects. Is that going to be also gloss black? That color have been looking very good on your latest builds.

It would be a lot of fun to build one, but I don't have any good basis for the build right now.
