Doug Bowen
When I wore a younger man's clothes, I used to drill holes in 1/25th distributor caps "by eye". Those eyes are now 65 years old, so with the help of a machinist buddy we came up with this jig to evenly space those darned 8 holes with a coil wire hole in the center. On the opposite side of the jig is a center through hole to locate the coil wire hole...then flip over the distributor (3/16" dia stock) and put in the "pointer", work your way around with a pin vise and DA DA! It worked.
High octane
Great idea Doug, but I find it much easier to use pre-wired distributors and magnetos.
kitbash1
What a neat idea, I could use one of those because of my eye-sight isn't what it used to be. It looks like it's made from teflon rod or something similar.
Ace-Garageguy
Slick solution to a sometimes vexing problem.
charlie8575
Seriously, you should sell those. A similar product for 4 and 6 cylinder distributors would be good, too. Charlie Larkin
astroracer
Or just drill one big hole and carefully glue the wires in. Fill the hole with a little epoxy after the wires are set and paint. Who's to know you didn't drill 9 holes? Mark
