  1. Interesting! So will this end up being a cross between a Chevelle and a Tempest? Seen a couple of Beaumonts here in the UK.
  2. Did some work on the motor at the weekend. It's the first proper go I've had at wiring and I'm quite pleased with it! Needs more work on the rocker covers and a few other things yet.
  3. Thanks for the info by the way guys
  4. Spose I'm building this one because it's the one I built when I was a kid. I'm well aware that it's not a great kit, but we'll see how we get on...
  5. Started building the General at the weekend - it's a horrible kit really, but it's got nostalgic connections as it's the first 1/25 I bought when I was a kid. One question - the body has the Daytona-style rear window, is this correct? Started on the motor last night, will post pics when I get home from work Anth
  6. Here's the scratch built trunk lid - needs a bit of tidying but quite pleased for a first attempt.
  7. Thanks guys! The brake fluid, and then the oven cleaner that I dipped the body in, wouldn't shift the majority of the paint - don't know what it is but it's stubborn stuff! I've wet sanded it and that's got most of it off, a bit more work and I'll be adding a few dents.
  8. Hello all, I've been lurking here for a few months and finally joined a couple of weeks ago. I've just started building models again after a looonnnnggggg break (about 15 years) and I'm loving it! I've got a '62 Catalina and a '68 Mustang half finished, and I saw a General Lee on ebay a few weeks ago and bid on it before noticing in the listing that the chrome was missing! I kept an eye out and a few weeks later there was a 'Fast and Furious' Charger, also on ebay, which looked nasty but had all the chrome parts that I'd need to finish it off (it had a '69 grille/bumper). It turned up last week and was even nastier that I thought! You can see how terrible the paint is in the closeup pics. On the plus side, it looks as though the builder also had a General Lee and had included all the chrome parts and more (how lucky was that?) I thought it'd be a shame to bin the gluebomb Charger so I'm having a go at a junker. So far I've separated the engine and box, separated the trunk lid and drivers door and built a new trunk lid. I've also shaved the passenger door handle and drilled holes where they would be if the handle was missing, and got rid of some pronounced molding lines around the rear quarter window. The body's just gone into a tub of brake fluid so we'll see how it comes out. More to follow soon hopefully! Anth
  9. Thanks guys! Yes William, it's a Dino - one of my favourite Ferraris.

    Car Art

Hello all, been lurking on here for a few months and finally got round to signing up! I'm a graphic designer by trade and I've just got back into modelling after about 15 years off, but I also paint. Great to see an auto art section here! Thought I'd post a few of my paintings for you to look at... Cheers, Anth.
