But I can't spray-paint yet, (too cold and humid for a nice PJ(sigh, no, no BJ)). So I started on a car I had in mind for quite some time. I will put a heck lot of scratchbuilding and modifying in this car, and it will be a slow, slow progress car. Questions? Remarks? Criticism? Please do tell. 62rebel Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 display the kit engine on a stand and put a parts-box engine in it. i did two of these and the FIRST thing i got rid of on both was that peak down the middle of the hood. raided my stash and put wire spoke wheels on them too. somewhere in my closet is the 58 Belvedere i never finished.... it probably follows the same scheme i have on my cheeslers. The engine is going inside the car, fully detailled. It might never be seen again, but I know it is there Not a lot done, at least it looks that way. Much of the time is spend on sanding, putty, sanding, putty etc. At this point I think the roof is done and primered. For my first time of serious customizing, I think the job looks ok. That has been a standard in some hotrods these days and even new cars.. I like the mesh grill. Like to see this one finished. No rush of course.. Finally got some time to work on it a little bit, and in the past couple of days the lowering got my attention. In scale it got lowered a nice 5 inch down. Not a easy job, but certainly not undoable.
