*This event is being being presented by the members of the South Hills Modellers Association.

-Many of you already know that this is THE show to attend if you are a model Builder, Buyer, Collector or Seller of Plastic Models, Toys or Die-Cast vehicles.

-Our annual model contest is NOT judged by the Club, And is a NNL style contest (What is a NNL style contest?) It is a contest where those that are attending (Spectators, Buyers and/or Sellers) are the people doing the voting for the different model classes. There is no inept judging, bias or favoritism. The people's votes are the ones that count toward winning a trophy. Club members are not permitted to enter the contest.

-The club members will however have a table set up to show what we build and a club member present to provide information about the club if you would wish to join. The club table will be supervised at all times through-out the Expo.

*For those wanting tables to sell their products, It is highly recommended that you put your deposit down as soon as possible as these tables usually are bought well in advance of the Expo. Don't wait 'til the last minute to try to get as many tables as you need.

*All tables are 8 feet long and the cost is $25 for one and $20 each for two or more.

*We are always looking for sponsors for our Expo. Sponsorship levels start at $20. (Please contact Dave Henk for complete details)

*Anyone who would like to join the Club can fill out an application at the Club table. We are always looking for new members who like to participate in Club activities around the area during the course of the year.

*Please contact our Club President: David Henk at (412)-469-9680 for more information, table registration, sponsorships or other questions related to the Expo.

Please come check out our website at: http://southhillsmodelersassociation.weebly.com/index.html

A special thanks to ALL the family, friends and everyone in the modeling community who have helped make our past annual shows such a success. We look forward to seeing all of you at our future events and we wish the show and hobby a prosperous future. THANK YOU

Ya know Nate I already had it posted to the Calender from back in September when I got the flyer @ 3RAM. Now it's double-posted. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOOOOOOOOW!!

I'll be there as usual, maybe the temperature will be above freezing at the start of the show so people know where to park this time around. :o

Yeah we're really not that far apart, I live off PA-51 out south of Rostraver. Greensburg seemed so far away from here as a kid, but then again so did Uniontown. ;) I think in reality they're both the same distance away, but the Cinemark out at the Westmoreland Mall is 10x fancier than the ceiling falling in dump - don't ask what that sticky thing you just touched was - place in Uniontown.

Well it looks like Mother Nature is working against us today. The snow wasn't supposed to start until late in the day today, but I got up at 7 AM and it had already started, with a coating already on the ground. With predictions of up to a foot of the white stuff, and all the talk of road salt shortages, I decided that discretion was the better part of valor and decided against having my wife drive me to the Show. It wouldn't be a good thing to possibly get stuck either on the road somewhere or at the Show in Castle Shannon. I'm usually not an alarmist but feel I made the right decision. After all, it's only a model show and my world wouldn't end if I didn't go.

I'm right there with you Richard. There is usually a good showing from the guys from WV. The group that I am normally with decided not to make the trip due to the weather. We were just out to the Columbus show a couple of weekends ago and dealt with horrible roads and snow. While you are out on the roads like that you ask yourself "what the heck am I doing?" I think that the memory is fresh enough to make us cautious this time. I hope there is still a good turn out for the show.

EDIT: About 30 minutes after the above post, my wife looked outside and it is sleeting outside hard. Glad I am sitting in my house and not on the interstate.

Sorry you guys didn't make it :(

I made the trip, roads weren't TOO bad (being Sunday helped with traffic). Looked like a few vendors didn't show, and there were only a fraction of the builds there usually are on the contest tables. Got a few bargains though B)

Kathie and I made the trip , no problems . Not very many builds on the tables , picked up a few more kits and a couple of pieces that shocked even me for future projects ! Lol ! Always good to get out to see familiar faces and hang out with friends . Weather kept a lot of folks at home , definitely not worth the risk of an accident if one had to travel any distance ! As always a well run show .

I'm really kind of bummed that I didn't go. My wife said afterwards that she's sorry she didn't just say "Let's go anyway... if the roads are that bad we'll just turn around and go back home." Now I'm wishing that she had. Oh well, there's always next year.

This one is coming up soon Rich, and it's not far for you. Went last year, not a bad little show. Not a lot of automotive entries, but a pretty good vendor area.

See you there? ;)

Sounds good Jeff. Seems like it's less than a half hour ride from me. How do they split up the cars, or do they "lump" them all together as "Civilian Vehicles"..?? I haven't attende an IPMS Show in a very long time.

Not sure Rich, I've never entered in an IPMS show. The flyer really says nothing more than 'automotive'
