  1. Thanks again JT. Man I am sure glad someone else thinks like me on the cheap primer and flat black. I've been using both of them and had great results. As I've found if you prep right in the first place the cheap stuff works pretty darn good as a primer. I doesn't hide the details either. Super thanks again JT for the info. Man I learn something on this forum each and every time I visit.
  2. Cool deal. JT did you use Krylon branded flat black as your primer.
  3. Great. I just so happen to have a can of that color I decanted. Thanks for info. If I can get half the paint job you got that beautiful truck I'll be happy.
  4. Curious JT what did you use for orange paint. I am working on doing a orange and black 359. Looking close to the HD orange color.
  5. Wow, thanks guys for ALL the information given. As just getting going on true detail work on kits over the past years I wanted to try and duplicate this kit as close to 1:1 as I could. With my skill level that is. I will continue to do the research and see what I can find. Thanks for the input. Jesse, where bouts in NC are you? I am a native from outside of Raleigh. Went to HS in Garner, NC. Greg
  6. Question. I've got the AMT 38164 (Blue Truck) kit coming. My question is what year is this truck? I would like to find some variations of 1:1 pictures. Thanks for any additional info. Greg
  7. Dang, sorry posted in wrong place. I meant to post in Questions and Answers area. I couldn't figure out how to move it. My bag.
  8. Hello all. I did a search first and didn't see anything regarding this question (I could be wrong) but can you get paint to stick on BMF. I just did a dash / instrument panel on a Revell Peterbilt. Tried cutting the circles out with no luck. I was wondering if I could get paint to stick on the foil? Thanks in advance for any hints !
  9. Yeah, as mentioned I did this kit a while back. While removing the old glass I cracked rear. The front is scratched so bad it looks ruff. I can't find the side rear windows at all. Again it's a "bring back to life" project....
  10. Hey Al. Yes it's the older kit. I built this lit back many years ago. My clear plastic parts are in terrible shape. Trying to Renew the build. I've learned alot since I built this one. Thanks for any help my friend.
  11. Greetings. I have the Revell #7601 Kit (was molded in Green). I am trying to get new clear plastic. I need the windshield, rear window, and rear side windows. I've contact Revell and they just told me that these parts are unavailable. So I'm looking at the other Cuda kits like the 85-4268 2 n 1 kit. Does anyone know if this or any Current kits have the same parts that will fit? Thanks in advance for any help. Greg
  12. Thanks Bill. That looks pretty darn close. I will pick up a can and do a test spoon or two and see if I can compare to his car. I really appreciate you doing the research for me. Greg
  13. Thanks Sean. I was kinda thinking the same. I used to run your neck of the woods. I am originally from NC. Grew up outside of Raleigh and lived in Charlotte for many years. The company I worked for in Charlotte sold industrial equipment. I used to ride to the Century Plastics Plant of Neely Ferry Rd once a month. Small world.
