Ferrari 458 Italia

Nice work! :D

Did you work on the front brakes/suspension location? Looks like your front calipers are bigger than what came in my kit, and the wheels look properly centered.

And yeah, make sure you used rivets instead of adhesive for the rear splash pan heat shields, or your 458 might blow up

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Ferrari is recalling its new 458 Italia model after several vehicles were reported to have burst into flames.

A Ferrari spokesperson told CNNMoney.com has that the luxury supercar is being recalled in order to make modifications to the wheelhouse assembly. "In rare instances the heat shield could become deformed, bringing it too close to the exhaust system and igniting," a Ferrari spokesperson said.

There is something bizarre about a heat shield... catching fire! It's like the fire extinguisher bursting into flames.

Some of the post '99 4.0l Jeeps had that problem too, apparently the heat shields separating the exhaust header from the intake system had a habit of holding flammable junk between itself and the header......IIRC they were installed because of some federally mandated recall to prevent the risk of the header starting things on fire :D

Thank you guys for the feedback!

ZoomZoom, I didn't touch the front brakes or the calipers, so I may be only lucky with my kit comparing to yours I guess. Still I'm not satisfied with the color of the discs, they supposed to be much darker I think, I might repaint them sooner or later!

You might be needing one of these:

With that out of the way, I'd love to know how you achieved such a smooth look with the paint. I'm guessing it was rubbed out at each stage (primer / colour / clear)? If you could share the recipe I'd be much appreciative.
