Duntov Posted April 13, 2013 Share Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) HI: I build a lot of full detail kits like many of you do but I still like the simplicity of a curbside.... Inexpensive.....they respond well to minimal detailing......you actually FINISH them!!!!! So here goes.... simple Revell 34 Ford Chopped coupe...snap kit... Wheels and tires from the Revell 41 Willys.... Cut all of the junk off of the frame.... Clear red sprue for the tail lights... Added scratch built headers from plastic tube...painted with jet exhaust enamel... Simple white paint job....Tamiya primer and gloss white... Decals from the 41 Willys....(You could add the drag chute too...) Stock interior...... Result:....nice little drag car for minimal effort and low cash outlay....... I did one of these SnapTite '34s last year, also fenderless, and also in white, taking the same approach I found it very relaxing and satisfying as a release from all the kitbashing and technical flurry that usual dominates my projects. Sometimes it's nice to put something together that just looks great on the shelf and doesn't require a ton of research, scratchbuilding and $. I have recently done a couple of box stock builds that I finished in a short time and enjoyed immensely. It looks like "White Lightning" to me, nice job. I did one of those in purple pearl a couple of years ago and loved it. I want to build the '57 Chevy Snap one of these days.
