  1. Just curious.......Did you use the Comet or T-Bolt interior tub? I've stalled my build of Dyno Don's Comet because the T-Bolt's tub is too tall and forces the floor pan down and the Comet's tub's (if I remember correctly) tranny tunnel didn't match up well.
  2. The door panel stripes were offered by Jack Smith of "Top End Decals." He also offers many other T-Bolt goodies, such as the rear roof quarter crests and some various complete decal sets for T-Bolts, such as "Bob Ford," "Morristown Ford," and Jake King's "Atwater Ford," to name a few. If you can't find him on the web, I have his e-mail address, but it's on my computer at work, so I'll post that up Monday if anyone wants it. Also.......if you want to make your T-Bolt more accurate, consider a resin hood from "Drag City Casting." The Revell hood is NOT the correct shape. Jim
  3. You are correct! I got to thinking about that later. I had corresponded with the current owner of the car a few years ago, to get the paint code for the gold. He told me exactly what you said. Also said he had a rough time deciding which way to restore it (yellow or gold). He eventually decided on the gold and black.
  4. By the way, anybody building the "Hubert Platt" version, be aware that the decal placement for the driver's side on the instruction sheet are incorrect. They are backwards. The placement should be left to right like on the passenger side. (The cartoon figure of "Frank Vego" should be on the front fender and the rest of them should mimic the passenger side, so that everything flows the same way). I made this mistake, as did some others that I've seen built. And if anyone is interested, the correct color for this T-Bolt (as most all of Platts cars were) is "Guardsman Blue." It's not available in model car paint. You can get it for an air brush from "Scale Finishes."
  5. The street machine series is the same. The last issue was a 2 in 1 series, which had all of the original pieces, plus a flat hood, inserts and lens to make the inner head lights "functional" and dog dish wheel covers. To reiterate, the Butch Leal car was always "Vintage Burgundy" and never "black". Also the "Bob Ford" T-Bolt was repainted "gold" with a "black" roof after it was raced by Kenny Vogt in it's "yellow" color. The information on the "Fred Cady" decal sheets stating that the "Leal" car was black and the "Bob Ford" car was "silver and black" was incorrect. In Fred's defense, the photographs he had available at the time were black and white. I have seen some models built with the black and silver colors though, and they look awesome that way too.
  6. Hey "Racer" this looks awesome. I'm currently building this one too. I'm not detailing the engine as much as you did. (I don't have the patience for it anymore). Thanks for sharing. Oh.....don't be embarrassed about that rear wing. Just tell people you did it to see if they'd notice!
  7. Have this one in my stash. Great job! (The "Cyclone" decal underneath looks like one from a Dyno Don Nicholson Comet. Is that correct)?
  8. Great detail all over. I like how you detailed the dash, especially!
  9. Very nice. I bought one of these bodies from Perry's Resin. It took 6 months to get it, but it is a very nice casting. Nice job!
  10. Thanks Rob. I thought they looked backwards too, but never really thought about reversing them! Great idea! Jim
  11. Does anyone recommend a good pattern to open up the rear wheel openings on the Hemi Dart kit? The pattern on the inside of the body that Revell provided looks wrong in my opinion.
  12. Nice job so far! How do you guys feel about the pattern on the inside of the body to open up the wheel wells? I don't think it looks quite right. It almost looks like it would open them up too much and that it makes too much of an arch. Jim
  13. Here's one I just completed last week. The decals are from "Fred Cady". The paint is "Wimbledon White" from "Scale Finishes" and a resin hood from "Drag City Casting" was used. I blocked the front suspension with .040 styrene strips for a more "nose in the air" stance. Thanks for lookin'! Jim
  14. Hey Guys! been a member for a while, but never really posted much, with pictures anyhow. Now that someone showed me how, I thought I'd share one of my builds, the Atwater Ford Thunderbolt. It has a Drag City Resin Hood, resin wheels from M.A.D. and decals from Top End Decals. Thanks! Jim
  15. Great response here guys! No intention on slamming anyone here, just trying to get a point across. The fact of being misleading on a delivery time is not as bad as ignoring e-mails (not answering them). 6 to 7 e-mails within a 7 month time frame have gone unanswered! When I e-mailed from a different e-mail address, about a week ago, to inquire about how long an order might take I was answered the same day! Again, I should have learned from my first experience, but as we all agree, his stuff is A1 quality.
