This is truly heartbreaking. I have a 5 year old grandson in kindergarten here in Iowa. I can't possibly imagine how it would feel if something like this happened to him. It would totally devistate our family. My prayers are with those affected, I only wish it never happened.

Unfortunately, all the hand-wringing and knee-jerk legislation in the world will not remove the sickness infesting the minds of those who seek to do harm to their fellow inhabitants of this planet, and someone so hate-filled and vicious will find a way.

Until true compassion and respect for ALL living things become universal traits of humankind, horrific incidents like this will continue, women and children will continue to be raped and exploited, and animals will continue to be tortured for fun. Let's get to the root of the problem, and pass a law outlawing the component of human-nature that makes these things possible. Uh huh.

If I heard correctly, someone in...China, I think... slashed some thirty kids with a knife; I don't have all the details (please correct me if I'm wrong). It can and does happen anywhere. There are people in our world who have problems, issues, miswires, diseases or what have you and we will never be able to control them or the incidents they create on any scale. Things like this will continue to happen; it is a truly ugly part of life that is not at all acceptable yet we have no control over it.

Let's save the political commentary for another forum. There are strong feelings and reasonable arguments to be made on both sides of the gun control issue... that's not a fight we should be waging on this forum.

I honestly can't imagine this happening in my town. It makes me think that since I go to a public high school, this is all to big of a reality, and if it were to happen we are packed in like sardines and have no way to defend ourselves. Definately makes you think twice about the small, day-to-day problems. Thoughts and prayers go to the the families and especial the heroic teachers that are coming forth.

Guy's, this is a really, really sad, tragic event. Please, lets not add to it by bickering or throwing our views into it. Nothing can change what happened yesterday. How about a moment of silence and prayer for all those people that lost their lives and for those left suffering because of it.

My heart and sympathys to all who lost people and had to deal with it. But i go on this forum as a escape from the craziness of this world and to have fun with my newfound friends on here. Not to listen to political debates about this and that. Please if u must do that on other forums and in my opinion keep this about modeling.

Amen Ben. Every forum I`ve been on since yesterday has a thread on this subject and everyone of them has turned into a heated discussion/argument on gun control. Lets not let that happen on this forum guys.

This event has truly saddened me, to the point of tears to be 100% honest. My heart and sympathies go out to all associated with this tragic event.

As I've said before, God be with the children, the parents, the families, the friends, and the community of Newtown.

That's what it is truly about.

God Bless.

That is all that really needs to be said at this time. Everything else will just stir the pot and not change what happened yesterday.

Thank you Danno.

Take a moment to hold your children, grandchildren...for that matter...anyone of your family members tight. In the blink of an eye, you can lose them...a very tragic event that should not have happened!!

Thoughts and prayers to all those effected...

mods...please delete ALL posts that have any political comments...they are not needed here (IMO).

We should also keep the police officers and first responders in our thoughts and prayers.

They were the first ones inside the school and had to comprehend what had just happened.-That's a tough job !

On behalf of all LEO's and first responders everywhere, THANK YOU SIR!

20 new little stars up in the heavens.

I've had to delete too many idiotic comments here. This is one of those topics that inevitably leads to bickering and name calling by certain members. I think we can all agree that what happened was a terrible thing, but the name calling and political commentary doesn't help or change anything.

No more Connecticut threads, please.
