  1. Glad you are enjoying them. That Camaro was the star of the show, a real fan favorite!! https://photos.app.goo.gl/joaTapMypyFKDTYG8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/o7UBKjfukZUwVhGW6
  2. Gentlemen, This thread has been dormant for a while, but I was able to attend the 100th anniversary of the 24 hours of Le Mans. It was a bucket list event, and truly one of the great experiences of my life! I was able to get some excellent access and I have included some pictures of track and the race events. More relevant to this forum, I was also able to visit the museum, which was absolutely incredible! For the 100th anniversary, there was a reunion of several of the previous winners, some of whom took to the track (the Mazda 787 sounded the best, IMO). The museum features the most incredible model car collection I have ever seen, 1/43rd scale of not just the winners, but every car that was entered! An incredible undertaking. I tried to take several photos to do it justice. As well, I have included photos of several winners, with the description plaque prior. Enjoy! https://photos.app.goo.gl/ipRcWTi1Ay1Vvfj38
  3. Nice work. Great work bench area. Would love to see your display case if you have one.
  4. Just so everyone can see what a fantastic job Rich did on this kit, here is what it looks like from the box.
  5. Great collection, and very nice to see the different interpretations of the same car. You never forget your first love...
  6. Nice work, especially on the leather seats and top.
  7. Thanks Gary. Happy to be part of this group of addicts! (Don't ask me about my World Rally Car habit!) As we know, some of these Le Mans winners in 1:24 are easy to come by, some are not, and many are simply not available in this scale. I think its possible to collect every winner in diecast in 1:43rd, but that's just not as much fun! Speaking of which, the 905 Evo is not for beginners, or intermediates, or anyone who wants to retain their sanity. The 936 was pretty straightforward, just converting to the right decals. Actually the livery is very simple, modelers could easily make the decals themselves. Here is the beginning...
  8. Thanks Helmut. You are correct, this is the Heller kit - the single worst kit I have ever put together.
  9. Completed winners by year in correct winning livery (from top left to top right, then bottom left to bottom right; all are styrene 1:24 kits) 1964 - 1970 - 1978 - 1981 - 1982 1986 - 1989 - 1992 - 2006
  10. On the bench currently on the bench 1984/1985 winner Porsche 956 Newman/Joest racing
  11. Great thread, guys, one of my favorite subjects, I am a huge 24 hours of Le Mans fan. 24 hours of Le Mans Overall Winners in my unbuilt kit stash (by year, from top to bottom) 1931 1966 1967 1968/1969 1990 1991 2018/2019/2020
  12. Alan, I agree with your advice and learned by watching others - I bought 4 pairs - one on the bedstand, one on the kitchen table, one on the modeling desk, and one for when I lose one of the pairs. Thanks!
  13. I finally had to admit to myself that I needed reading glasses. I couldn't understand why all my car mags were making their fonts smaller and smaller. At least the Dollar Tree has cheap reading glasses. Got an extra pair for the modeling desk, too, and they do make a big difference. Maybe all this modelling has ruined my eye sight. Or other reasons...😵
  14. Great job on relatively unloved 1:1 car. Don't hear much about the 918 anymore, and it don't seem to be mentioned with the Ferrari/Bugatti/McLaren hypercars of today. Those wheels look a lot better than I remember the kits wheels looking when this model first came out. Beautiful job and excellent photography.
  15. Wonderful work Harald! So many interesting details. Congratulations!
