Jared Roach
Ok guys, so I desided to get another one and do what I have been dreaming of doing for awhile, a 4 door gmc SYCLONE, plus I want a left over turbo'd 4.3 Its not glued yet, just taped together for now, and I'll worry about the body cladding later after the whole thing is glued together. Maybe a side project some day?? It's gonna be built like if GM made it back in the day, completely stock, only wish it was real, LOL Edited June 19, 2010 by bowtiebadboy333
Eric Stone
Should be cool!
Chuck Most
I think they actually made something like that in Brazil, but not a Syclone version!
Jared Roach
thanks guys, and chuck, I know they did the 2nd gen over in brazil as a crew cab, and here too, but don't think there was a 1st gen crew cab from gm. But anyways, update: I got it glued together, and started body work, I still have to get some more styrene for the edges of the roof. I also put a coat of bondo on it to rough in the cab, haven't started anything else on it yet. I want to use te stock frames, but can't figure out where they exactly sit when the kit is built outta the box, so I cant cut it or the interior tubs till then, but I'll figure it out. Chuck Most
You're right- it was the 2nd gen S-truck that had the Brazilian Crew Cab. But I think it didn't come to the US until 2000 or so. Heck, there was an all new 1995 Dodge Ramcharger... avaialble only in Mexico. Why do other countries get all the cool stuff? Still, a first gen crew cab would have been cool. Good progress! Jared Roach
Thanks guys, and thanks for the info Chuck. I'm pretty sure I can get better pics, just me not taking my time and bad lighting. I was gonna get a new camera sometime soon, but had to spend that money on a new battery for my truck oh well. Makes me feel good when someone like you says it would be magizine worthy, lol. Plus there is a HUGE update coming tommorrow, since I got alot done.
Jared Roach
Ok guys, got a update. I got the chassis cut, the interior tubs cut and the roof and body work is coming along, but still has along way. I still need to cut and glue the body cladding too, so stay tuned. I plan on finishing the chassis, like no spare tire, blend in the two frames etc. Also finish the interior tub, gotta fix the hole in the floor. Also got to get one more light coat of filler on it and should be ready to go. Oh and it looks dark because I had my camera on the wrong setting. thanks for lookin. Jared Roach
It'll be just like real syclones, gloss black with semi gloss black body cladding and red syclone badges. It'll have the grey and black interior with with red accents too. Just thought I would let ya'll know. I got a update on this one. I finally have the body work almost done. The roof was smooth but it dipped down a bit near the centre so I put a FINAL coat of filler on it. The driver's side door is done. The passenger side cracked and broke but glued back together and almost done. I started to join the chassis pieces with styrene and super glue. I also cut two of the buckets and am now gonna do a bench for the back. TThe body cladding picture shows how much I have to extend the oringanal pieces, but no problem since I got two sets. On the doors after the body works done I just got to add the window trim, and they'll be done. Sorry for me rambiling on, but I like to explian things. lol This one still needs more work: I also got the bed prety much done and ready for primer: That's it guys. Thanks reading it all(if ya did), this thing is really coming along and soon I plan on getting the chassis put together and the interior painted after the body work is done. Thanks for lookin. But I will pick it up again, hopefully before the year is out, and have some updates on it eventually.
