I am impressed with the great models I have seen on this site, so I am hoping to learn a great deal from you guys. I have been building models for years mostly street rods, customs and muscle cars, but not the detail I have seen on this site. I have been buying model car car for years stocking up for my retirement 250 + so I should fit in with most here. And the people are grade-A first class all the way! Between this and other message boards (mostly just this one anymore) I have gone form being a kinda lousy builder, to an "above lousy" builder, soon to be a happily average builder. And it's hardly taken more than a decade! :wink: You are right about that eBay find...there's a certain "something" about it. Don't let Peterson kid you, he's an above average guy (just don't mention T-bolt around him!) Keep the eBay find as-is... its a great peice of work. The reason why I ask about the old model truck, is that it looks like it was bult in the early sixes 61, 62. It looks like one you would see in old Rod & Customs mag. when they had models in them. It has a real wood bed and a 57 corvette hood with a 55 chevy truck cab chopped. I was thinking it may have been in Rod & Custom. The tail gate has ( Swing Low ) written on it . bob paeth Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 I'm not sure whether Zeb is refering to me or not but ................. In my opinion you should leave your 'find" as is. This is the type of model that the museum in Salt Lake City looks for in presenting the history of our hobby. I would agree that this model was built in the '60's due to its' design and quality of build ( not up to todays standards ).
