Thanks Tim for taking all the pics! Who ended up with the awards? we had to leave before they where handed out. Oh by the way the Fuel Altered drag car on the primer table was mine (Matt Zimmerman) I wasn't trying to keep it a secret I just forgot to put my name on there.
Hi guys it has been some time since I have been on the forum but I have been thinking about building some slot cars. I mostly build short track racecar models and over the years I have accumulated quite a few 1/24 scale bodies, I would like to build some as slot cars and I was wondering where are some good places to get parts I plan on making brass chassis but I need all the other goodies to make the rolling chassis? Thanks for the help guys!
That's a sweet looking build you have going there!! I have an R-34 model that I want to do some more detail on it's nice to see that there is a motor kit out there for these cars.
Well the front axel assembly is pretty much wrapped up. On to the rear end and the goofy two driveshaft setup I will explain more on that later.
My little girl Shelly also came down to the shop to see what I was working on.
I had an 85 and loved the thing till the LF came off and messed up the front fender, brakes and front valance. I wish I would have fixed it now but such is life.
Grate looking Model
Thanks Guys,
Some pics of the front end stuff I have been working on (shocks and radius rods) I still have to do some cleanup work to refine the parts but at least I am moving forward. I also added some mounting brackets to the front axel
Me and the wife are planning to go we are first timers. I have 4 just about ready to go my Jim Shampine Super modified build will be on the primer table.

I did some work on the trunk, cut it out and fabed the trunk lip based on some resto pics I found I also started on the wheels they are made from one of the kit wheels and I cut out the centers and made up new ones for the wide 5 hubs the hubs I got from a buddy he made them fore one of his projects and it turned out this car ran the same style hubs. I still need to make caps for them.
1/16 Scale, the motor will be the 427 Ford from the AMT cobra kit, the two cars I started with where built e-bay spacals that where in rough shape but since I just needed the bodies it worked out good.
