New Mustang

Recommended Posts

My "friendly neighborhood Ford dealer" finally got a couple of 2015 Mustangs. I checked them out today... first time I have seen them in real life instead of online. Wow. Beautiful, inside and out. IMO the best looking Mustang ever.

I'll be writing a check for mine soon... and selling my 2007 GT... B)

Beautiful car to be sure. Help me out on something and maybe I have my facts wrong. I know you at least were leaning towards the turbo 4 which is totally your right but I read something that said the V6 had the same horse power but it does have less torque. Times are pretty close to the same from what I read but the turbo lists at almost 2,000 more bucks. Now please don't misunderstand that I am trying to challenge your choice because I am not. Your money, your choice. I just wonder why the turbo is more appealing to you if it still is.

V6: 300HP: 280 ft/lb torque, 17 city, 28 highway (manual).

EcoBoost 4 turbo: 310HP, 320 ft/lb torque, 22 city, 31 highway (manual).

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Very cool car.

I find it interesting the 4 cylinder turbo is never called a 4 cylinder in the literature. It produces more power and does it more efficiently than the V6 and it's something to be ashamed of?

Not in my book. B)

One thing that is true about red cars is they are more expensive to insure. My wife used to work for an insurance company (two actually) and she said no matter the make, if the color is red, it costs more. Red cars/trucks are the most stolen and the most involved in accidents. I don't know if that goes for every insurance company. But, it did for the two she worked for.

Mustang's are speeding ticket magnets as are Camaro's, Corvettes, Challengers and any other sports or muscle car. Cops know you have them for a reason. So they watch them closely.

If I were considering a new Mustang, I would have to try the four banger out first. It would have to be better balanced than a V-8. Hard to argue with 310 hp and 31 mpg too. Plus, what could it actually do with some tuning? Although, the V-8 Mustangs have always got surprisingly good gas mileage for what they are. Tough choice.

This insurance company says otherwise. Doesn't mean other insurers don't take it into account though.

Also, mustangs, camaros and corvettes don't even make it on the top 20 list for how many tickets cars get

All the color-related stuff has been proven to be a myth

Sweet choice Harry. I would go comp orange but I only buy svt cars so I'm interested to see what they have in store in the coming months. Pretty sure I know what it is...

I hope they don't overdo it with the body work and stuff. This car is so clean, I hope they just keep it simple. The C7 Vette is overdone IMO, with all the black vents and trim.
