DrGlueblob
Sally Beauty Supply is in a lot of cities in the US. I get the best sanding sticks and use them wet most often. The paper-backed emery boards are no bueno as they melt in water. Sally's prices are much less than Squadron or Flex-I-File, too.
Sidney Schwartz
Well I certainly can't complain about the lack of response on this forum. Bill, as far as I can see in photos of the 1:1 there are no seam lines. Cameron, you're right about this kit. If I'd know how many problems it had I wouldn't have bought it. But now that I have it I'm taking it as an opportunity to start developing some skills. Once I finish this one the others will probably seem easy. I'm going to try the Tamiya primer and will probably pick up some from Home Depot as well so I can compare them. Looks like there's a Sally's right just a few stores down from the Joanne's that I go to.
Sidney Schwartz
After scraping, puttying, sanding and priming. Hardly perfect, but much better than I'd hoped. So far this model has been an excellent learning experience.
Quick GMC
looks good. test fit the headlight buckets and make sure they sit right before you paint the car. This is where I had most of my issues.
Sidney Schwartz
After reading your previous comment about the headlight buckets I tested them. Boy, you weren't kidding about the fit being terrible. Enlarging the buckets by sanding helped a great deal. They're probably about as good as they're going to get.
