ARTEMIS1759
This is a design I had for a while now. With the thought of modern trucks like the CXT and others similar to it. I need to add a front axle yet to make it a 4x4 but it also uses a 47-early 55 Chevy pickup box. Enjoy.
stewart
Sweet design. Are you going to build it? STewart

ARTEMIS1759
I would like to. I know now using the Google Sketchup app how to cut up two cabs to make a crewcab so it would be fairly easy. The hard part would be the wheels and 53" tires. It is all to scale so all I would half to do is take more pics of it and print them out for reference. If I ever get my rod shop together I want to build a 1:1.
stewart
Have you seen the soreal concepts wheels? They are about 49" I believe. bandit1
actually there is a resin pete cab out like that....all you have to do is add the box on the back....i believe that cab pops up on ebay from time to time? edit....its a 68' though!....shouldnt be to hard to convert to a 53? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jimmy-Flintstone-NB146-Resin-68-Peterbilt-Semi-4-Dr-/120858378428?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c23b880bc#ht_500wt_1054 Edited March 14, 2012 by bandit1
ARTEMIS1759
Nice, Thanks for the link. Those would work. A couple of inches shouldn't matter. I would just have to modify some alcoas which is what I did on this truck. I used some rock crusher wheels I found and put the Alcoa centers in them. ARTEMIS1759
Ahh, you guys got all kinds of good info. I would just have to chop the extension off the back. I don't like the look of the portion behind the rear doors. My cab is slightly different because the rear part (rear doors back) are actually at a 90 degree angle, square, instead of angled with the front doors but we will see. ARTEMIS1759
Disreguard the last. Looks like he curved it back in twards the back. I knew I had seen a cab like this somewhere. Might be where I got the idea.
ARTEMIS1759
So now does anyone have a 1947-53 GM pickup box that they make separate so I don't have to buy 2 kits. It is a scale 9' box on the truck. Which was a factory box you could order in those years.http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=412. Apparently ol Jimmy still sells the kit for 25 bucks. Edited March 14, 2012 by ARTEMIS1759
ARTEMIS1759
I guess throwing around ideas and trying to keep it looking real, probably go with a USA1 monster truck kit since it has the rockwell axles and modify everything to fit. With the smaller tires and all. These are the tires I would like to find 16.00 x 20 (52") Michelin XZLs. Military Tires.http://www.ityre.com/en/tyres/catalog/michelin/model/2056/ Edited March 14, 2012 by ARTEMIS1759
stewart
I have some tires that look almost exactly like that except they aren't big enough. OD is 1.5 in and ID is 11/16. STewartBy the way, I have a dodge little red wagon bed I would part with. It might work just as well. Stewart
ARTEMIS1759
I'll keep that in mind. I got a different project I am working on at the moment.
