'83 Camaro/scrach built headers (Update with how-to)

Hey all, been a bit since I post on here. Way back in January I post a scrach build aluminum header I made for a Integra project (see link)

http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84287&hl=integra

That poor 'teg's paint got messed up so it got side tracked. I switched to this AMT '83 Camaro. I like this body style best of all the 3rd gen Camaro's and Firebirds. I decided to scrach build some headers for it too, so here is a in prgress of them to give you an idea of how I did the Integras. The kit had the 'Race' parts for the race version of the kit, so I copied the lines they followed. This was all done with simple hand tools, pin vice drill, xacto knife to cut the .015" flange from alumium sheet, pliers to bend the 1/16" aluminum rod, and swiss files/sanding sticks.

Also, a underside shot of the Camaro showing my scrach built sub-frame connectors. The wheels are from a Revell WRX, and front tires the F&F Eclipse, rears F&F Supra, they fit perfect on the Revell tuner rims.

The engine isn't the best, so I took one from a AMT T-top 3rd gen, but I'm going to make a 4-barrel carb, I just started this, so sorry no shots.

I never knew this kit exsisted

It also was released as a 'race' car, this one had the race parts, fender flairs, side exit exhaust, roll cage, etc. It shares nothing with the other 3rd gen camaro/firebirds that MPC/AMT had out, I have a MPC firebird which shares parts with the T-top AMT released Camaro (I also assume the Iroc). Although I got it off of evilbay, I think its from the early 2000's.

I added a few pics before some things were lost, but since snapped a few more pictures so here is a better update.

What I did was mocked up the bent 1/16" aluminum rod into the flange, and taped the 4 pieces at the collector end. I put some JB weld into the end where the collector goes, and thin super glue on the back side of the flange to hold the rod in. This particular one, I filed the shape of the flange after it was all set up, which is better because its less flimsy. I filed the collector end smaller so I could slip on the electical connector. I still have to touch up/polish/heat stain this. Also, a few shots of the detail painting. Sorry the car pics aren't so clear, need a new camera.
