mr moto
I've always been hesitant about posting my builds for some reason but I'm finally going to break down and post some pictures. I borrowed a camera from the office and signed up for Photobucket so here's my first attempt. The model is the AMT 53 Stude decked out with tailfins, front and rear pans, slight top chop/restyle and the windshield converted to a wraparound. I used Revell's early Cad V-8 which was a favorite to swap into 1:1 Studebakers back in the day - it fit like a charm. I look at a lot of old car magazines that I get off of Ebay for inspiration and my concept for this build was the kind of streetable custom that you might have seen in the pages of Rod & Custom back in the early 60's. You can't see much of the interior in the photos but it has four individual buckets, a full length console and a 1960 Plymouth steering wheel. Paint is Duplicolor Seattle Silver with a Cobra Colors clear coat. Edited August 13, 2007 by mr moto

Matt T.
Beautiful! Please don't be hesitant to post your work - it's great! The roof and fins look great on there, and it certainly looks like a car you'd see in an article in an old magazine. Very nicely done. Peter Lombardo
Here's something that you don't see everyday. That is really sharp. Very nice blending of the two very different style vehicles. Fins, I never thought of fins for that Stud. Very nice.

David G.
Great custom work on this one! It reminds me of some of the customs I saw at Autorama custom car shows back in the Seventies. David G.
Claude Thibodeau
Hi Manuel! Great restyling, bravo! Somehow, this Stude is a timeless design, that has seen countless custom adaptations... And most look very good, such as yours. Proves again that the original design was sound. CT
Zippi
This is a really old thread but boy does this ride look pretty slick. Nice work Manuel.
doorsovdoon
What a super cool looking build! You nailed the early 60's custom look, could even pass for a manufacturers concept car you see on the turntable at a 50's Motorama. Sweet! John Goschke
Wow! That is very cool! Definite "little pages" material! Engine is most impressive. Wish we could see the interior!
mr moto
This is a surprise seeing this thread come back to life! I'll have to dig deep and see if I have any interior photos but it sounds like I didn't even have my own camera back then.
