MAD '57 Ford Four-Door Sedan transkit

Recommended Posts

Newest from Morgan Automotive Detail- a body, bench seat, and interior door panels for the Revell '57 Ford Custom- just the ticket for a cop car or taxi project. As with all the MAD products I've seen, it works with the donor kit as well as the original kit parts, and the casting quality is top notch. So far it has not put up any fight with any of the Revell kit parts, but I expected that much coming from MAD. :D

I always hated it when model companies offer top of the line models. Revell did well with the '57 Chevy 150 and Ford Custom. But sadly both kits come with mighty V8 engines with no option for a small engine to match the low trim level of the car. Does anyone knows where I can find a suitable 6 cylinder for this kit< and also for the Chevy??

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Walid, as far as the six cylinders go,,, check with Ken Kitchen at Kitchen Table Resin. Not sure if he does either but, seems like something right up his alley. I have never met Ken nor, bought anything from him but I have only heard positive comments as to his quality.

The AMT '60 Chevy Pickup has the engine you're looking for. IIRC, Ken does have the correct air filter to convert it to the Passenger version.

Kris, body looks awesome!

Hopefully soon there will be a wagon.......

Revell of Germany started an online platform for customers' suggestions. I proposed the '57 Ranch and Del Rio

wagons, and the Ranchero as well as several other models. Take a part in the poll and who knows, perhaps we can see it one day.

Ranch Wagon:

Ranchero:

Otherwise there are the Flintstone's Country Sedan (that can be a good start for a conversion into a Ranch wagon):

and Country Squire bodies:

Here is a conversion WIP to 9 passenger version:

and the Modelhaus reproduction of Revell's ancient Country Squire - designed for Revell Ranchero kit:

Finally, as a side note for those who might be interested, Modelhaus offers resin conversion of AMT '57 Fairlane to Custom (I guess it has been cancelled now) and Custom 300,

and also 1958 Custom 300:

FOTKI links do not work

A re-production of SMP '58 Wagon is also available:

Kris, will you be doing a correct rear seat for this body style as well? The ends of the rear seat would be rounded off rather than square:

First one is Australian RHD and the other one's a Fairlane but you get the idea. I have to do the same thing to recreate my uncle's Fairlane town sedan.

Chris. The rear seat will not be modified. This is done this way simply to keep the cost down. If we had to offer another seat, it would bring the cost of the kit up. Once everything is together it is not something that is easily seen. The front seat and door panels are another story, which is why we chose to modify them.
