crazyrichard
thnx jonas whell the base for the wondows where plastic window frames from pola g (big train scale) i had some pieces left from my garage diorama and put 2 together and made the surround with wood note on this update , i;m making more with wood but bare with me , most stuff will not look like wood at all when i'm done like the base for the pumps that will become concrete and the pillars will become steel .. and the wood that is ment to still look like wood in the end will be painted base for the pumps with pillars , now this is the rough base the pillars will be wider at the bottom and i will add a mounting plate and bolts into the concrete .. so just a bare skeleton

crazyrichard
thnx guys and larry here you go > i had a bunch of spare tube ends from .. uuhhmmm how do you call that in english ?? a translator does not seem to know it either ?? its for diy a cilinder with stuff in to close seems (lol at my discription) anyway i sawed off a small piece ... wich slided over the support poles and so i had a thicker bottom made a cross beam on the top of the poles then added 2 more wooden beams in the front roof frame for the inside i used ribbed plastic that came of old plastic window blinds , you only see a tiny bit of the inside so using wood ..hmm i can use that better in other earea's closed the inside with a straight point and some wooden beams and made some extra supports on the strut poles under the roof the sides of the bottom line of the roof also will get a beam

crazyrichard
thnx ira !!! just added a beam on the side of the roof (underside) and some caps to get an idea when there are pumps , could be a cool base to build some glass top pumps a plastic box against the wall as inspiration , i want to make a old vending machine there
crazyrichard
and started on the gass pumps ... took some ballpointpen parts and a cap from a tube with ....cant seem to find the right word (see previous post) sawed up 2 clear pens and got these glass houses out of them some rods used from cuetips lol and whell made it look like some fuel was inside , i reconed orange clear would work ? i didnt have anything better .. and i thought most pumps you buy are empty so its always better detail wise whell since even my plastruct glue would not glue these types of plastics i used regulair glue so i could not continue it was to fragile without the glue hardened
Dinky
You keep amazing me, what you can make off some things. Wonderful, you know the pomp's make me think of the old fuel pomp's where you had to mix the oil and fuel for the moped 20 years ago
crazyrichard
just look at stuff differently arno hahahaha .. its also fun to use the weirdest stuff to build something and yes .. i know what you mean , well the pumps will get way more detail , and a round top and ... details first started on the pump area concrete floor , made it look like square concrete slaps .. this is only the rough start , will need way more work to look more like concrete , and i will also put some weeds in the creeses
crazyrichard
tonight i went on with the floor (yes its evening over here lol ) peeled of some of the top layer of the wood put some bondo on with a cloth and washed some dark grey in then i washed the floor with bondo and a cloth , buffed most off and added washes with rust brown , oker yellow .. and downtoned the washes so not one color was dominant in a way it stood out too much better vieuw close up and testmade some weeds at the bottom , will make more but for now its to fragile to work on the rest , i also have some other stuff for weeds close up

crazyrichard
went on working on the pumps today made tops from old backsides of rims and used steel pins to make the rods that hold the top on on the left a gitair string i will be using for the hoses made round tops and some sleeves on the bottom where the hose will come
crazyrichard
glued in a brass tube where the hose slides in to , used a thicker brass guitar string as on the previous pics painted everything a base red with enamel paint and a hand brush , also did the fuel over so its covered more looking trough the glass its a nice effect
crazyrichard
and whell sort of the idea what it will be , still need to add detail , like the fillerguns , logos etc... then took some shots outside in better lighting
crazyrichard
rough strat of the nozzles also did the lines in the raised concrete part where the pumps stand on , would be nicer spread out even over the raised part but that was not a option anymore
crazyrichard
added extra protection / crash poles beside the main roof supports and already did some read painting scale reference picture

crazyrichard
i already saw some cool red / green texaco logos ... whell worked all day on the paint of the building ... its a long story but when i just painted it shiney and .. it just didnt look nice and felt soulledss so i could not help myself and weathered it .... only a rough start so more will follow .. there will be parts that are less weatered later ... and the roof is next and that has to become superrealistic !! so i desided tomorrow i will cut of the lousy sign holder of the roof , close that and i will hand cut roofshingles and shingle the roof one shingle at a time , just like irl ... i think that will become awsome the airmeter in the middle needs more paint , especially on the compressor , some silver and a black belt in the center of the round top in the reces part will sit a air-dial , like a gauge where you can read the airpressure , will print one and put glass in front of it
