  1. WOW! That is some incredible detail! I haven't built a model truck since I was a teen, about 30 years! But I recently bought the reissued Road Boss to do a replica of the trucks my dad used to work on as a diesel mechanic at a trucking company in Chicago called OK Motor Service. This forum has given me alot of good ideas on detailing, I just hope I can pull some of them off. I plan on starting my Road Boss project soon so I'll be sure to post my WIP photos! John
  2. The owner told me that the Crackerbox runs, and that it's for sale for $3500. I think the picture is on that link that has the owner's phone numbers on it.
  3. Here's a link to some pictures I took today at a place I pass every week. All the pics in the set are from today, except the OK Motor Service pics Trucks On The road
  4. I stopped today and was taking some pics from the side of the road and the owner pulled up asking if he can help me. I told him I was just checking out all the old trucks....turns out they're all for sale. He said the Crackerbox is $3500 and he said it actually runs!
  5. That's awesome! Can't wait to see your Crackerbox when it's done! As a kid I was a big fan of the White Road Boss and Road Boss 2 since I pretty much grew up around the trucking company that my dad worked at as a diesel mechanic. I used to think these were ugly...well, I guess they still are, but that's what makes them unique, and I'm really starting to love these trucks!
  6. I've been passing this old GMC Crackerbox for weeks now near Exit 72 on I-55 in Illinois, just outside of Springfield. I finally pulled over and took a picture this past Tuesday with my phone. Next week I'm taking my digital camera with me and I'm hoping the owner of the shop that it's at will let me go i the yard and take some pics....there's also a few old Internationals and a Road Boss that I can see, so hopefully I'll have pics of all of them soon.
  7. Thanks, that's a great site. That is the other company, OK Trucking. The company i'm looking for is OK Motor Service, their trucks were red, white, and black. Hopefully some will pop up somewhere. The OK from OK Trucking is almost the same, so if I can't find the actual company I can improvise using these.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm new here, after browsing around and seeing some of the threads I decided I had to join. I'm hoping that there is someone out there from the Chicago area, or that used to live there, that has pictures of trucks from a Chicago area trucking company called OK Motor Service. There was another more prominent trucking company in the same area called OK Trucking. Both had red/white/black paint. If anyone has pics from OK Motor Service trucks please let me know. I grew up around this company as a kid since my dad was a diesel mechanic there, and I'm dying to do a build-up of one of their trucks. Thanks, and keep up the great builds!
