Alyn
Nice work on getting the twist out of the front end. This one was definitely worth saving. More importantly, best of luck on your job search. Money is the grease of life. Helps everything else go smoothly.
customsrus
Ok I know it has been awhile since I last updated this build. But for those of you that might be interested I believe I have the warped body problem solved, I will post pictures as soon as I can recharge the batteries in my camera. Thanks
customsrus
Ok here are a couple of new pictures of this build. After I soaked the body in some very warm water for a long long time, I got the body pretty straight (I hope). Anyway I added some plastic rod to the fender lips and across the bottom sides of the truck. This should make the fender lip more pronounce. customsrus
Next i added some bondo to areas that needed it.

customsrus
Now as it currently sits with some primer on it. Will need some fine tuning on the body work but its taking shape again.

customsrus
What do you guys think of the hood lines do you think I should keep as is or shave them off? If I get rid of them it will a little different than the original.
W-409
Very cool! Great to see this build back also, one of the coolest PickUps on the forum. Personally I would leave those Hood Lines there, they just look good. Anyway it would look good without them too, but I like it that way better. Mike Kucaba
You did a beautiful job on those wheel well/body flairs! This whole build is shaping up to be great!
cobraman
This truck is looking so %$#@*&% good. I really like the way the taillights are set up.
blunc
Love the work on this, nice save in the twist. I noticed the rear corners of the hood don't quite match up to the cowl (rounded off a bit)...not picking on your work, just mentioning in case you haven't noticed it. customsrus
Not much new to update but I did repair the hood lines since I sanded them half off during the build process. I added platic rod over original lines. Bondo and sanded smooth.

customsrus
Well its been awhile since I have had anything to update on this build. But I did finally get to do some work on it. I cut out an spot in the drivers side fenderwell for a master cylinder. I also made a master cylinder, cause I could not find one I liked. Made it from an assortment of parts. I took the master cylinder from an old build cut the fluid tank off, added a larger mounting flange to the back of it, drilled holes for studs and added plastic rod for the studs, then cut them to size, added some brass tubing for the brake lines, then made a cap out of plastic tubing. It will look better after I clean it up and paint it. Edited November 14, 2012 by customsrus
customsrus
I added a seperation line between the inner fenerwells and the body. First I taped off the area then I used the backside of an exacto blade to carve my line. Then I added some putty to make some corrections to my line. Then sanded it and this is what I came up with, may need a liitle more work to finish.
customsrus
Last but not least, I added some material to the bottom of the window openings. Use plastic sheet cut to size for this. I will round off the outer top edge a little. Maybe?
