Nice quiet weekend let me get most of the lift built and got some color on the body. The stationary part of the hydraulic ram fits loosely into the floor of the bed to allow movement. The underside I drilled and wired fast so it can't pull up through. The actual ram is smaller diameter to fit down inside and is secured to the underside of the boom. This should make it moveable.

Opening the hood wasn't too bad, but figuring out how to hinge it wasn't my favorite task. Basically the open square tubing slides on the wire running through it as you lift it up. Still on the fence about that but I did add a styrene upper radiator support to help keep everything in place.
