Modelmartin Posted February 8, 2007 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks for the pics! If Ken Miles traded into a Tipo 61 in 1963 he was getting a badly dated racecar! The Birdcage was only really competitive in 60 and 61. Back of the grid guys used them for many more years and more than a few were fitted with small block Ford motors. Biscuitbuilder Posted February 9, 2007 Share Posted February 9, 2007 ..was built in the time frame 1953-54, based on the very first Kurtis 500A Indy roadster (made famous by Bill Vukovich Sr, the Fuel Injection Special).
