  1. How about a 67 Nova grille, for the 66 Nova- should be an easy conversion. Al
  2. Jeez, this "Reliable" guy sure seems to have/attract ALL the bad luck... over the last several years, he seems to be getting ALL the deliveries of 'bad' resin, and his luck with the USPS and 'lost' packages is astronomically unbelievable!! But, to his credit, he DOES seem to have an unlimited amount of excuses to sell.. I mean.. give everyone. I'll take two dogs with everything, Jeff!
  3. Hey, there, prostockmodeler- Just curious- do you ever plan to honor the trade you made with me? I sent you the sealed Pro Stock Camaro kit a year ago in exchange for your Comp Resins S-10 pro stock body, then never heard from you or received anything. You disappeared from the board until now. How about making this right, OK? Al
  4. Ah, the 70's... I remember them well. Seems like every time I entered the MPC contests in Flint or Detroit, I would get beat out by Bruce Owens!! I remember that in '76 I thought sure I had him beat with my Monza Pro Stock with removable front end, then he showed up with HIS Monza Pro Stock with removable front end AND opening doors!!! I got 1st, he got Best in Show!!! Did it again!!! Bruce is a great guy, still laugh about that today. The Ohio Tom's & Chuck, they're as much a part of modeling history as the NNL is! 5. The Mid-Michigan Model Makers 25th Annual Contest & Show scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 18th, 2009, has had a sudden, unexpected venue change. For the last several years, we have had our contest at the Michigan National Guard Armory on Wilder Rd. in Bay City, Michigan. This morning at 9 AM, we were advised that the State has planned a "Freedom Event" for the returning unit that now drills out of the Armory, and it is a major event that includes media, families, and all that stuff. Understandably so, we are out, they are in. We have found another venue only four miles away, so I want to make sure everyone can still find us, enter their models, and enjoy the great deals our vendors have to offer. If you are coming to our show via I-75, take the Wilder Rd. exit as usual, only turn right (east) and go ¾ mile to the traffic light at 2 Mile Rd. (Meijer’s on the corner). Turn left (north), go one mile to Wheeler Rd (4-way stop sign), then turn right (east again) and go three miles to the Bangor Township Hall, right next to the fire station. That’s it! Easy to find, same hours, same great show, same great deals! See you there!
  6. John-- I don't think it was you, as much as the fact that people may not have known who was posting the message. You didn't sign your name on the bottom, so they didn't know you. If they had seen "John Strick" on the bottom, and known your association with the Toledo NNL, I'm sure no one would have doubted your message. BTW, welcome to the forum, glad to have you here! See you at the Toledo show in March! Al Maciejewski
  7. Harry-- As a seller on Ebay and a one who accepts PayPal, when someone pays for their item with Paypal, say it was $20, the $20 is deposited into my PayPal account, but I only received $19.78 (rough guess). Paypal (nee Ebay) charges me a service fee for using/accepting PayPal payments. I don't particularly care for it, but as someone mentioned, it's the 'cost of doing business'. Let's see- auction listing fee + final selling value fee + PayPal use fee= less $$ in my pocket, which makes Momma unhappy! Al
  8. Wonderful, heartwarming story. Just goes to show you that there are still some good people in the world. It's the boards like the slot racing board and this board and several others where a small community of friendships develop, almost a 'village' where everyone looks out for and takes care of each other. The anonymous donor in the story made quite a contribution in airfare and the costs of constructing a custom track, but I'm sure it was nothing compared to the satisfaction and sense of fellowship he felt toward Joe and his family- something money can't buy. 10. Pat-- Do you have any info on this Petersen & Fitz dragster? Looks like a neat build. Any idea who the builder is?

  12. Well, I was a Certified Master Automotive technician for 23 years at two dealerships (a Chevrolet/Jeep/Eagle dealer and a 'superstore' GM dealer with everything except Cadillac) until an on-the-job injury forced me to retire on disability. Didn't care for retirement, so after some rehab for a year or so I returned to college for a teaching degree, and I've been teaching elementary school (5th grade) for the last eight years. Just finishing up my Master's in Educational Information Technology. Al
  13. Hey, Andy-- An impressive list of cars that Ronnie Sox drove, but I see one missing (probably not one you'll want to model, but at least you can add it to your archive of S&M cars) and that's the Gary Duckworth P/S 85 Camaro. Al
  14. Uhmmmm, Darin, practice what you preach, OK? Al Maciejewski
