1:18 Tire Swaps & BMF'd

On Ertl's it was pretty easy. The hardest part is removing the old wheels and not damaging the axle. The Sunstar's are glued to the axle and don't roll. The Autoart's depend on the car, some snap right on and others you need to be creative. Here is Autoart's 2007 Mustang GT convertible and Ertl's 67 SS Impala, these just spapped on.

Al, All of your cars look great, wheels can make the car!

They look great!

I purchased a few of the GMP tire kits years ago.

still waiting to put a set of Chevy Rally wheels on an Ertl 1/18 scale '67 Corvette.

How easy/ or difficult are these swaps to perform?

The Ertl 67 Corvette has smaller axles than most cars. Get some sizes of Styrene tubing to reduce the hole size of the GMP wheels and you will be ok.

As Al stated getting the old one off can be tricky. I use two flat screw drivers, one down each side of the axle and twist in opposite directions to Pop the wheel off.

Here is a Tire Wheel guide with some info. http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/die-cast-118-cars--/118-tire-and-wheel-guide/

Good luck!
