Chevelle SS 454 wiring.

Here is a pic off the web of a big block chevy, showing where the wires go. Hope this helps

The other side would be just reversed of this side wiring. Meaning, Pipe before wire from the front back.

If your building a hot rod motor you can put the plug wires where ever you want, like the picture Jeff has shown. If you're going for the O.E.M. look, Chevrolet usually ran the plug wires over the valve covers thru small metal and rubber holders. This kept the wires from getting in touch with the exhaust manifolds or shorting out on each other. They also had a small holder that used the lower valve cover bolts to guide the plug wires when they turned down to the spark plug. Hope this is of some help.

That's another engine where the dimensions got bodged somehow. The exhaust port spacing is even on these engines, but as you see, the last pipe on the right in your shot is too close to the port to its left. It should look like this...with the ports evenly spaced, and the first port near the front of the left head (about where yours is).The right head has the rear ex. port close to the back end of the head.
