  1. Just looking for a 1979 Ford LTD II 1/24 or 1/25 model kit. They used to sell them a long time ago. My dad had the actual car and getting him a model kit would be awesome. If anyone has one they would like to sell or have a lead on were to get one please let me know! Thanks!
  2. are those just wheels or is it a whole kit? Ive been getting raped on ebay for wheels.
  3. Wow! that is a substantial amount of models to get in one year! Were do you keep all these? A warehouse? Ive only had 2 kits and 1 resin in the past year....This upcoming year....I see an easy 20. The two I got right now are my "grails", both kinda hard to come by and both have personal meaning. 1-4runner...im a big fan of import SUV's, especially custom ones. 2. 81-87 Cutlass resin....ive been trying to find one for years and I finally found one.
  4. I watched a Tyson fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr in late 96? He wasnt as famous of a boxer as he is now, so I only knew his name from being in the newspaper about winning in the olympics. Took me by suprise, went to a friend of a friends house to watch the fight and this guy walks in with a US olympic team coat and I said...who is that? And my buddy says "its so and so's cousin....Floyd Mayweather Jr" And that is probably the only celebrity I have met, besides autograph sessions.
  5. Thanks for the lead Pat! Thats a 4 hour drive for me though, I will be out that way for detroit autorama. Hopefully the two can fall on similar dates and I can meet up with some people.
  6. Another NEW B question for you gods and guru's. Can styrene sheets and rods be picked up at local hobby stores or do you have to order it through catalogs? Also, any suggestions on what sizes to get for 1/24 and 1/25 scales for door jambs and roll cages?
  7. Ive been thinking about doing a rat, I just have to look at pictures of some to get more of a feel of how they are built before I buy a kit to do. Totally agree Bob, this site is sooo informative and just oosing with new ideas. I found an old 77 monte carlo lowrider I built a couple years ago and starting messing with it (because I dont care for it) and am trying functional opening doors!
  8. Thanks for the insight again! I agree, hands on is really the best way to go. I self taught myself to fabricate suspensions and sheet metal parts on cars. So hopefully it will come 2nd nature as well. Next project, I do promise no quick job and do my best to pay attention to detail and push my skills to the limits. I also will try and get some pictures of past models. Granted my collection is down to 2, actually more like 1.5 There was a incident with a black lab and well....
  9. Thanks for the information and tips! speaking of styrene....anyone suggest getting this? http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/Book.htm
  10. Just curious to if there is any club benefits? Any open to 20 year builders who found out they are still entry level after joining MCM? (lol) Anyone from Michigan?
  11. Well, introduce myself. I have been building 1/24 & 1/25 scale cars since I was atleast 5 years old. I use to build it to the "T" it was supposed to be "stock". Then I tried doing small things like fake plug wires, battery cables, and brake lines out of sewing thread. When I turned 13 I got the custom bug and started lowering suspensions and doing minor body modifications. After looking through here I am sooo not as good as I thought I was. And I really want to go from "hack it out in a week" to something better. And I guess I want any info I can get, and what products to get. Ive read alot of guides on here and it is very inspirational/educational. I guess I will start by asking the basics. Any recomended glues? I use testors? in the orange tube Fillers for mods? I know its way wrong, but I use drywall putty. I have never known what to actually use on a model. Anyone built their own frame rails? what to use? I will stop there, so many questions...so little time.
