Harry P.
Remember, do not post hints or answers here! PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1938 Packard Super
Matt Bacon
Good grief.... are you feeling OK, Harry? You've posted one that appears, from this angle at least, as though it might be quite nice-looking. That never happens! I guess it might all go horribly wrong at the front end, though.... bestest, M. I really don't pick ugly cars on purpose, must just be a coincidence that so many of them are ugly!
otherunicorn
Those two words were exactly what I said when I saw it! Good grief....
DonW
PM sent. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but there is a lot of motor car there! Edited November 6, 2013 by DonW
CorvairJim
I'm pretty sure I know what it is (at least what make it is), and I can assure you that, if it is what I think it is, it looks pretty good up front but not as nice as it did in earlier years. Harry P.
A lot of you guys had a hard time with this one... got close, but not quite right. The car is a 1938 Packard Super 8. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=775.1&aid=263 Who got it right (some after many tries!): wisdonm KingSix Badluck 13 Chris R MikeMc otherunicorn slusher maltsr mr chips DonW 59 Impala (he probably tried hardest of all!) 59 Impala
I enjoyed this one a lot Harry. I knew it was a Packard but those tail lights kinda thru me off. All the 37-39 Packards that I looked at had the round tail lights. Then, at the last try, I found "the" picture and then had trouble getting it to show up. Thank you. otherunicorn
The tail lights gave me grief too, because the only cars I found them on were 1939 models, so I kept stating 1939.
DonW
What also threw me was that the Packard 12 apparently had similar coachwork sometimes. I quote 'There is nothing like a Packard Twelve – the 473 Cubic inch engine is a marvel of smoothness and quietness'. And the Packard Super 8 was preceded by the Packard 120... But I went for Super 8, with some help from Mr P.! Where do you find the time, Harry! Cheers, -Don.
