Paint and glue joints

Recommended Posts

One, of the irritents I'm having during my long learning curve back into modeling is having to remove the paint from places where things join together. I'm thinking in the future of masking off the little places where I know things will be joined together. I'd like to here what other people do to get around this potential problem, thanks.

Gene, What I do is cover the attachment points with Elmer's glue. There is very little touch up after the parts are glued together.

I do the same thing. The Elmer's white glue will stick to the parts while you paint around it (well, once the white glue has dried), but it's easy to remove once the final painting is done.

There are some liquid masking agents which serve the same purpose, too, and I always try to assemble as much as reasonably possible to minimize the number of parts to be glued after they are painted.
