Automotive Themed rooms

Recommended Posts

I don't have any pictures, but my bedroom at home is all Ford themed. Ford Blue walls Signs hanging. Ford diecast and models on display. I'm working on making some curtain rods from a crankshaft and pistons.

I also built a lamp in high school shop class made to look like an old hurst shifter with a boot and everything. It broke when knocked off a desk though.

on the TV show,Extreme Homes, they showed a converted gas staion. It was built before the era of 'modern' filling stations. The guy did a great job of converting the upstairs to living quarters. The ground level still looked like a garage.

I did a search, but couldn't find it. I have it on VHS tape. He had a 40's Chevy tow truck sitting in the bay. He had someone blow up a picture of the truck sitting there, and put it on the garage door. it looked like the door was open when it wasn't.

He used tool cabinets for vanities and storage. There was a neon Mobil flying horse ion the bedroom wall. A lot of polished diamond plate, but very tasteful.

There is a restaurant/bar here in Cranberry called Quaker Steak and Lube (I think it might be part of a chain of eateries). The entire place is automotive themed right down to the gas pump nozzle door handles on the front door. There are cars and motorcycles either hanging from the ceiling or mounted on platforms (I think the bodies are only the shells). There are wheels, hubcaps, headlights, taillights, steering wheels, etc., decorating the walls. Even the menu has automotive titled dishes to serve. It's the only place I've found around this area that will serve you a rare burger if you want it that way. It's a fun place with lots to look at while you're waiting for your food.

You are correct. It is a chain. I've eaten at one and our table was actually under a real car on a car lift! Super cool place.
