  1. I was at the end of a very long line in the drive through at the local Dunkin Donuts and let this woman go ahead of me. I didn't think it was any big deal since I think that I was the last car in line. When I got up to the window to pay, the guy told me that the woman in front of me had paid for mine. An unexpected way to start the day!!
  2. I was on a trip from Baltimore to Philly yesterday and passed a white Pantera with temporary tags on it. Couldn't get a picture since I was trying to drive. Guessing someone just got a new toy. Well, a 40 year old new toy.
  3. I remember many years ago I bought a model of some type of muscle car that came with a body that was so twisted that I didn't even try to fix it. If I had the same car now, I would just build it up and claim that I had put in hydraulics or an air bag system. Other than that, if you look at my signature, it sums up my childhood efforts at building model planes.
  4. A couple packages came in the mail for me today. Both of them I bought because of articles that I saw in back issues of Model Cars Magazine. The truck was an obvious purchase, but I still have no idea what I am going to do with the lot of Hubley 1932 Chevy Phaetons. There are actually 4 of them, not sure if they are complete or not.
  5. I am beginning to work more seriously on my entry and will begin the roll cage system over the weekend. I am guessing that in order to keep it from looking too wild, I will have to go with an internal cage, even though it would be cool if I could get away with something like this. I would even leave off the windshield grate to make it more normal looking. Another problem is the lack of 1/20 scale racing seats available. Somehow I don't think that the captain's chair included with the kit will cut it. I really don't want to have to get a whole model to get a racing seat. If anyone has a spare or two they don't need, let me know.
  6. They still sell these Punch-Me type things. I could swear that I saw one at a Big Lots last week. I don't remember what the character was.
  7. One of the magazines that I read occasionally actually has a little blurb in it each issue mentioning what to do if people contact you about your subscription.
  8. I thought that I had read somewhere a while back where you could donate you own blood ahead of time and they could preserve it until you had your operation. I could always be wrong. Edit: Well, I found online that you can donate blood for yourself but it has to be done right before your operation so I guess it is limited to one pint. Not sure how much you need for a hip replacement.
  9. Speaking of Gilbert Chemistry sets, I haven't seen anyone mention this one. Did anyone here have one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilbert_U-238_Atomic_Energy_Laboratory
  10. She's the one. If I get a chance, I am going to stop by the Nostalgia Convention that weekend. They always have good guests lined up. It looks like the theme this year is 2001: A Space Odyssey.
  11. Nope. But a big hint is that she appeared with Elvis in one of his movies.
  12. I haven't see this woman listed: As a cheat or for those in the mid Atlantic area who may be interested, she will be appearing at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, Sept 15-17.
  13. I really wanted to go to the MidAtlantic NNL, but I had to leave that morning on a business trip. I also enjoy watching Wheeler Dealers. They work on some truly unique cars.
  14. I was debating whether or not to pick one of those up. One of the ones that I went to also had the model pistols. Those could be cool, too.
