Cant find a introduction section, so here i am. mainly into US cop cars

Recommended Posts

I will post some images up of my work tomorrow, at the moment doing a diorama of a NY street with a couple of cars, based on a real foto of a Crown Vic hitting a bollard. i only work with plastic kits, i dont lke die-cast so having to use the older Lindberg kit

I bought a lot of cop cars from US ebay etc years ago, always surface shipping, so have a large amount of decals, after market lightmars etc, i never built many as i didnt have a airbrush and compressor, but i do now, hence finally building them after about 8 years. Recently found out they stopped surface shipping, and now its pretty expensive getting a kit sent over.

Im after some Lindberg Chargers soon (have a couple of Revell 2005 Impalas coming) and heard about the new AMT Camaro police car, i think out some time this year. Should make a nice change from my pile of Revell Caprice's (and Impala SS's) and Crown Vics

Im mainly a military modeller, 42, i took up making kits after a accident when i broke my back in 96. Im a fan of CHiPs, moves Vanishing point and Gone in 60 seconds (the origonals, not the poor remakes). I have plenty of time to make models, as im a house husband due to my health while my wife i out at work (been married only 6 months, to a girl i hadnt seen for 22 years, my first love i met back in 88 who i dated for a couple of years before a bad split up, we were both first loves and after one night it all came flooding back)

I do the odd muscle or MOPAR, often to have on a base with a cop car.

Im always looking for info on resin parts, after market parts, how to make kits more real or acc. etc as you will when i put my fotos up.

I have a pile of AMT (and Yodel) Monaco's, in varous box art, and hope to do a couple of those, with better whee/tyres etc.

I have posted on the old HH forum, i still do but not many cop car fans, plus when i ask for help, its rare i get it, either with improving my work, tips etc or where i find some correct kit for a conversion etc.

Anyway will pop some fotos tomorrow :-)

thanks guys, i away from the models room at the moment (laid in bed with bad back ache), all my fotos are on the pc's in the workroom and i didnt upload to photobucket yet.

Really enjoy doing the odd car now and again, makes a change from military stuff which i do, at the moment thats mainly E German NVA cold war stuff.

Im soon going to start work on a Zombie themed dio, using 1/35th scale vehicles (or 1/32nd if i can find what i want). Lots of converting and scratchbuilt parts.

Also look foward to doing some classic 70's US Trucks, the sort that were showed on tv shows, iike CHiPs. At the moment we are trying to move house, so most of my kits are all in storage boxes and all my finances need to go for a house move. Once moved i can redesign the models room, i have 2 desk in a L shape at the moment, but i want another couple of desks, for a spraying area, and a whole desk for larger work (i have a huge WW2 Brit ship to do, chasing a U boat and both are over 3' long)

I do anything really, apart from WW1, Civil jet planes. I do the odd dinosaur, figure etc.

I usually stick my work up on Facebook, as i have lots of modelling friends (mostly military) on there, but if anyone is on FB, you can see my NY cars in progress here. I noticed some videos in a section showing how to put up fotos on here direct as im not used to forums like this, so will do later today (tomorrow for you guys).

thanks

You think we need it?

If so, I can do it.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't think an introduction section is a good idea. I would probably never visit it. And thereby never say hello and welcome to new people.

I like having only one place to go, here in General Topics, to see what's new.

You might consider changing the name of this section to "General Topics and Introductions".

Lemme think about it.

I know what I think does not hold water here  , I am sort of with Casey and think its a good idea to have a new member section, but at the same time, its not going to take anything away from the forum either.

I say lets give it a shot, and see how it goes

Welcome Julian, this is a good place to hang out and these guys and gals have lots of info in the heads, so ask away. I looked at your facebook, nice work on the NY cop cars in diorama, where are you in the UK? My daughter is over there teaching, just wondering.
