This seems to be one of the kits where "close enough" has been just that since 1978(?), when the kit debuted. The inaccuracies have been well known from the start yet it continued to appear in Monongram and later Revell catalogs, and is easily recognizable as a '56 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hardtop. It will give up the stock engine and 'batwing' aircleaner for a Monogram '39 Chevy Sedan Delivery build I'm planning. So, the body shape issues are of no concern to me. Jantrix Posted June 1, 2020 Share Posted June 1, 2020 Yes, the model has some accuracy issues. Like a lot of Monogram from this time period, a lot of eyeball engineering was going on. BUT, these kits go together VERY well. Everything fits. They are fun to build. I can usually pick them up for $8-10 bucks at a swap meet and they make excellent slump buster builds. I'm never afraid to try something weird. If accuracy is your thing, you'll want to pass these by, but other than that, they are pretty cool.
