Hey fellas its been really hard gettin back to work on this project but im finally gettin back to it now. Im not sure if ill be documenting this build anymore but i will show any progress I make on it. Anyway I built this seat from the photo etched brass racing seat sold by Dirt Modeller, I covered it with carbon decal added the cushion and made the belts from medical tape. i hope you enjoy. B)

Thanks fellas for the compliments.......

I remembered someone asking me a while back " if this would be the motor with the working pistons?" I didn't answer because i didn't want to make pistons. Now that sat on my head like a challenge......" I have to do it" i told myself. So i'm gonna let you in on what Ive been doin today. enjoy

I started by soldering a thin piece of sheet brass to a 3.44 mm brass tube to form a closed cylinder.

20140513_121843_zpsytuzvrmg.jpg

which will then be cut off at 0.115mm to make the piston head. Ill then drill and polish it.

I made the second half of the bearings for the journals to hold the crank in place all of this will be left raw (unpainted) so it wont stick each piston has to be connected to the crank shaft and soldered together in place. so to answer the question asked so long ago , Yes this motor will have working (moving) pistons.

I wanted to show you the end of the piston opened up so it can be placed on the crank , rebent, and soldered back together

hey fellas thanks for the sincere comments......

I was able to finish installing the pistons into the block all rods are connected and lubed. the crank is secured with brass bearings and i also started the oil pan. hope you enjoy the pics.

looks a mess but thats from the corrosion I treated all the moving parts with axel greese and there will be oil in the oil pan. here you can see the bearings i made on the ends of the crank shaft and you can see the rods connected to the crank.

Heres the ruff oil pan please keep im mind that everything you see is a work in progress in no way is any of this finished.

Thanks Mitch...I do my best with the limited resources I have now.

Shaun Just 10.5 secs heck i have a 67 chevelle thats a mid 10's car lol this is a pro mod we'll have to go faster than that lol!

Jason Thanks for your compliment

David G. again thank you for following

Dave R. I plan to do just that.

Ok fellas i have a small update today. I drilled the front of the engine block for the cam shaft , I also re-built the tunnel ram because i wasnt happy with the way the it was put together. heres some pics for ya hope you enjoy.

first i drilled then soldered this tube in the hole.....

20140518_132719_zpsdz9vmsji.jpg

then it was cut off and polished, the cam goes here and will connect to the timming belt.

20140518_133621_zpsjuxef9nq.jpg

The tunnel ram had to be taken apart and drilled so i could insert smaller tubing to support the wider plentums it made everything more uniform and neat.

20140518_144621_zpskskhiuic.jpg

here you see the smaller tubes that will support the larger ones

the tunnel ram re-built and now im happy.....

Yes sir Danno ol' boy I have more..... and more....as a matter of fact I have a new update for ya. lol

Today I made the timing pulley and an electric water pump.

I started by soldering a brass tube to a scrap piece of brass sheet to make a cylinder, then it was drilled and a piece of small diameter rod was soldered into the hole. Ill use this to hold the part while i'm building. Then the tube will be cut to pulley size. and the rod will be trimmed off.

theres the finished pulley then I pretty much started the water pump the same way. but then i had to make water ports for the pump i started by noching a square piece of tube , bend it in a 45 degree angle and solder it back together. the two pieces are then soldered to the cylinder.

ok heres another update for ya .....

I made the puke tank from several graduating sizes of tubing because i needed to make the tank tappered at the top so i got smaller and smaller tubes untill i had just what i needed. I then made two straps to hold it in place on the front of the motor. i added a piece to the bottom of the tank to make it a bit longer. I hope you enjoy.

Started by soldering this two pieces together....

20140520_140141_zpsq0t7zwda.jpg

20140520_151408_zpspts1jjeo.jpg

The tubes were stacked like this then soldered and covered with solder and shaped...

20140520_172824_zpst5tvit7h.jpg

here its been shaped and the neck has been added it will be cut and capped later...

20140520_175643_zpsormrr283.jpg

heres one of the straps.
