jaydar
i have seen several on eBay and i am not sure which would have the best detail. Would it have the same level of detail as the '69 Hurst Olds version???? thanks, joe.
Casey
The '69 442 and '69 Hurst/Olds are the same basic kit. The H/O adds a few different parts (hood scoop, rear spoiler, center console, etc.), but the kits are 90% the same.
Edsel-Dan
Yea. I have both. the 442 W30 came out in an MPC box, them ertl released the H/O version in an AMT box. Except for the H/O hood scoop, Rear wing spoiler, console and Decals, they are the same kit. I think the degree of cross over is closer to 98% though!! Eric N.
The Hurst has "glass pack" mufflers, and a auto trans. W-30 has turbo muffs, and a 4-speed.
Casey
You can view the instruction sheet for the H/O kit here: http://www.round2models.com/files/instructions/amt703.pdf

jaydar
Are all the boxings of the AMT/Ertl 442 W30 the same? joe.
Edsel-Dan
They offered both a Coupe & a Convertible. They are basically the same kit, but there are differences Besides the body, Boot covert etc for the convert. The Convert kit also included an Air conditioner compressor & lines. The Coupe has the W-30 Air Cleaner & hoses. First issues of the Coupe had a standard front bumper/grill that was supposedly modified to move the parking lights inboard to clear the W-30 Ram-Air Scoops Otherwise, yes they are the same. I have both first issues, Coupe & Convert. I have not seen the Convertible re-issued though. The Coupe body is currently offered as a Slot car kit.
